Does he have to take the QO or is that even pulled? I can't imagine a team giving him a contract unless later facts support him.

If his wife is willing to go public with this days before he could sign for a hundred million ish, which she could likely get a huge chunk of in divorce, it would appear to add credibility to her allegations IMO.

She is hurting her own financial self interest, which leads me to suspect she doesn't care about the money in all of this, and is speaking out for what's right.

What in the fuck?!? Who in the fuck would care if a dude the size of Miles Bridges got hit by that girl? He could have easily physically but not violently diffused that situation without breaking her nose and concussing her. He's a fucking monster. This take of yours along with a bunch of other things I've seen you post really bring into question your character and your capability to understand other people with compassion and logic. I mean the old, "She might have brought it on herself."?!? Are you fucking serious?

I had said in a post earlier that celebrities get targeted by police at times by being overcharged for domestic disputes in order to embarrass them like what happened with Jaxson Hayes who made some bad mistakes but never should have been charged with a felony. This is not that. Miles Bridges, if he did this and given the proximity to the arrest and her hospitalization it seems very logical that he did... well he's a fucking monster. I don't know if his basketball career should be over for good if he serves time for this, gets counseling for a few years and can prove that he can come back a changed man but his NBA career should definitely be over for now.

I always thought that the penalties Mike Vick had to endure were a little too far (no offense to @SlyPokerDog and all of the dogs everywhere) but this situation needs to be like the Mike Vick situation was. In order to find his way back to the league he should have to take legal responsibility for these actions and according to this woman who seems to at the very least be the mother of his children, actions he has done many times before. He should have to donate so much money to DV charities and partner with whatever one will have him, going out and speaking out against DV and educating the public in PSAs about how horrible DV is.

Bottom line is for basketball which is what this has to come back around to in this forum, Miles Bridges should be done unless some very big things happen over a sustained period of time and by that I mean multiple seasons away doing the right things that concretely show that he is a changed person. Really sad stuff for that woman and their children. I hope they're okay, I do hope that Miles Bridges can get to a place where he's a better person after rehabilitation and serving the proper sentence and I hope we can all be better than the post I'm replying to.

Do you have anything backing up your claim that women are in the majority for instigating domestic violence?

In the majority of situations, the man is going to have more power financially and physically. Sadly, with power comes abuse.

Nah. He went too far and should be held accountable.
Yes Paine has a point but we as men need to be capable of walking away.
The point here is more that if he was being pushed to do this he should have been man enough to get out (not always easy to do). If he was not then he should be charged with assault.

In both cases everyone involved needs help here. First and foremost the children.

No. Doing that to a woman is not acceptable.

Acceptable to do that to a man your size if you are defending yourself or someone else. That's it.

Wait. Aren’t you the same dipwad that thinks Chet Holmgren should face legal action for supposedly tanking a workout?

You must have been beat up by a women before and it gave you brain damage. Can’t think of anything else that could explain your stupid “takes”

Also in response to Paine Tablet, why are you bringing this up now?

Most who are abused do not seek help until they have reached a breaking point. Even then, they most often stay in the abusive relationship.

I am not going to condemn Bridges without hearing his side (looks awfully bad) but am surely not going to start blaming the victim.

I agree and I'm saying its extra egregious because unlike the red neck who got fired from his minimum wage job at the factory, this guy has everything in his life just humming along making it EVEN worse and for me, impossible to understand.

He’s been patted on the back and told how awesome he is probably since the day they figured out he was a basketball phenom.

Narcissism plays a big role in these rich people feeling they can get away with murder. They truly believe they can and live in an alternate reality.

I'm sure he will face some penalty...but I won't be surprised if he gets a lesser penalty than Watson - a horny, but non-criminal jackass.

Guys, this isn't meant to be aggressive towards either one of you but none of it fucking matters. This shit has no context that makes it any worse or better. It's an extremely strong man that is over a foot taller and probably 100lbs. heavier breaking the nose and ear drum, concussing and reportedly strangling unconscious the mother of his children, reportedly in front of their children. Reportedly this isn't an isolated incident and is actually a pattern of behavior. I say reportedly about her being strangled unconcious, it being in front of their children and it being a pattern of behavior not because I doubt those things but because the medical records make the broken nose, ear drum and concussion a fact. It's some really horific stuff if it's an entitled/enabled multimillionaire pro athlete or someone unemployed on the verge of losing what little he has. It's so disgusting that the scenario surrounding it just doesn't have an effect on its level of repugnance.

You guys are misunderstanding me. I'm saying it's even MORE insane when someone has it all. I don't get it. If someone is seeing their life go down the toilet it isn't ok, but it on SOME level makes a grain of sense. Their life is spiraling and they lash out, not at ALL ok, but I get it. I worked with DV survivors for years so this isn't a theoretical exercise for me. I saw so much of it I can't even tell you and I still worry about some of the women who disappeared. I'm saying it never made sense to me when I was working with regular people who were often very poor and it makes even LESS sense when it's some insanely rich guy. I am entitled to have that reaction and am puzzled that people seem to think I'm saying it's justified if it's a poor guy, that is not at all what I'm expressing. I'm saying this is next level insane to me.

I did get what you were saying and I appreciate your opinion. I just think when there is any DV incident with one person (almost always a man) who is physically dominant and not only assaults his partner but also traumatizes his children by doing these horrible things in front of them... it doesn't matter who they are, it's just too terrible to quantify for me... regardless of their standing in life but again, I hear what you're saying and your opinion is just as valid as mine.
