I hear Jabari Parker is in the best shape he’s ever been and looking into making a comeback next year. How about gambling with him on a reasonable contract and trying to revive his career here?
That doesn’t really bother me. I don’t think it was his fault as he’s never really been the center piece of any team.
Horrible trade for the Timberwolves IMO They gave up so much for Gobert. Jazz could definitely be #1 Suitors for Ayton now, with a package no other team would/could outdo.
That’s a light way of saying that he doesn’t play. I’m down for those scenarios but not sure in this situation. I’d rather have Melo and that’s not just for the Melo thread.
I keep reading this from fans and I don't really think it is accurate. If we signed him for the minimum a couple of years ago and he played well, he would still be due for another contract this summer....at a higher price. Unless you all think we would have given him a 4-year minimum deal. This way he was at least well coached before coming to us.
Some details of the Harden deal should come out today. Should determine whether they need to move Thybulle or not. Matisse really doesn't make sense for us with GP2 on board, but he's still an elite defensive talent and we can never have too many of those. (and yes, fwiw, we can bring him into our TPE and still stay below the apron if we stretch Bledsoe's contract).
If Houston just did this deal and carried Thybulle into the season I'm sure they can get something close to a first during the season.
Am also still really curious to see what the matching salary would be from Philly. They don't have much in that way.
Yeah the argument is really moot because we signed him. Value is value. I could see being annoyed if we traded for him.
Here’s an interesting little nugget from the CBA FAQ page: “During the July Moratorium (see question number 105), teams may not enter into verbal or written agreements with most free agents. Therefore any such agreements that are struck during the Moratorium are still characterized as negotiations, and do not count toward team salary.” I think this means that GP2’s deal isn’t currently on the Blazers’ books so they aren’t technically hard capped at the moment.
