Back in the midwest they go all out for fireworks displays and celebrations. ..lot of lakes and rivers..big sky country. As kids I remember M80s Cherry Bombs, regular firecrackers, bottle rockets and sparklers.....Fair grounds would be packed with events and carnival rides, vendors. Demolition Derby and Stock Car races...and a whole day of John Phillip Souza music

Going to go over to the inlaws for the fourth, will set up their pool and barbeque steaks, burgers, and dogs (red, white, and blue shortcake for dessert), listen to some good music, drink some beers and a couple shots, let the kids set off some of the tame stuff, and then me and the grandude will set off some of the good stuff.

Probably play some Cornhole and throw the football around while we are there.

Don't you hammer the ends of those and duct tape em so they explode?

I think it was Witch Whistlers you can turn into bottle rockets

Usually I spend it with family, but not this year. Going to view the fireworks from my newly installed roof. I was up there for demo and we have views of Mt. Jefferson in the south all the way to Mt. Baker up north. Can't wait.

Piccalo Pete's smashed up can really do some damage. We would put the powder inside a plastic baggy then screw it into the top of a two liter bottle with a fuse. Those three liter shasta bottle were actually ideal for maximum noise. Yes, my neighbors hated me and my 4 brothers. Until they needed their lawns mowed or someone to dog sit...

I remember as a kid the first Roman candle we lit off we used to hit the sensors on the street lights. They’d turn off for about 30 minutes.

We’d wrap them in duct tape, put them in a 1 liter soda bottle. Drill a small hole in the lid and then add more duct tape and they’d literally shake the neighborhood.

As I’ve gotten older I could care less about fireworks though. Almost got in a fight with my dumbass neighbor last 4th because we had that drought and heat dome and his dumbass was firing mortars on extremely burnt grass in a field right behind my house.
