Did you hear that Terry Glenn's career is probably over? There are two solutions to his ligament tear: one is major surgery that puts him out for the season, the other is minor surgery that puts him out for ~3 weeks, but makes him susceptible to serious injury if he gets hit again. Either way, I don't see him playing after this season

So... with our two first round picks I'm thinking McFadden and Manningham?

We for sure we need a WR. Now if I remeber correctly, we have the Browns first round pick, so we hope they tank. Go 2-14 and get a pick 1-5. Then if we can we can go after any of these top Prospects:

[IMG] DeSean Jackson*, California Height: 6-0. Weight: 178. 40 Time: 4.32. Projected Round: Top 5 Pick. Compared to Santana Moss. Returned four punts for touchdowns in 2006. There's talk that DeSean Jackson may run a 4.2, which would put him into the top five. He's the same size as Ted Ginn, and could be even faster. Jackson recorded 59 receptions, 1,060 yards and nine scores last year.

[IMG] Early Doucet, LSU (8/30) Height: 6-0. Weight: 205. 40 Time: 4.49. Projected Round: Top 15 Pick. Only one LSU receiver had more than one catch in the team's 45-0 victory over Mississippi State. That would obviously be Early Doucet, who caught nine passes for 78 yards and a score. Doucet's speed and explosiveness will have him competing with Mario Manningham and DeSean Jackson to be the top receiver chosen in the 2008 Draft. Doucet was third on the team in receiving yards (772) and second in receptions (59), but he'll be the main guy now that both Dwayne Bowe and Craig Davis are in the NFL.

[IMG] Mario Manningham*, Michigan Height: 6-0. Weight: 185. 40 Time: 4.42. Projected Round: Top 15 Pick. Mario Manningham injured his knee last year, but when he played, he was unstoppable. He saved his best performances against Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Ohio State and USC. Despite missing four games, Manningham notched 38 receptions, 703 yards and nine touchdowns in 2006.

[IMG] Adarius Bowman, Oklahoma State Height: 6-4. Weight: 215. 40 Time: 4.48. Projected Round: Top 25 Pick. In his first year at Oklahoma State, Adarius Bowman had 1,181 yards and 12 touchdowns. Caught 13 passes for 300 yards and four scores against Kansas. If Bowman runs a 4.4, he's definitely going in the top 20.

[IMG] Mario Urrutia*, Louisville (9/6) Height: 6-6. Weight: 220. 40 Time: 4.56. Projected Round: 1-2. Mario Urrutia had seven receptions, 142 yards and two scores against Middle Tennessee State. However, what the box score doesn't show is at least two drops, including one easy touchdown catch. Great size. Caught 53 passes for 929 yards and 6 touchdowns in 2006. Needs to improve his 40 time to be a first-round lock.

    http://walterfootball.com/draft2008WR.php

Here is the link for 47 Recivers in Next years draft. I listed the top 5. I really like Bowman out of Ok, State. We just have to hope that the Browns flop and we can get a great reciving prospect.

[IMG] Darren McFadden*, Arkansas (8/12) Height: 6-2. Weight: 205. 40 Time: 4.43. Projected Round: Top 3 Pick. Looks like the 2008 season will be Darren McFadden's last as a Razorback. His mom gave away a little too much to ESPN reporters. "He told me, 'Mom, I'll be through in December,'" she said. "I said, 'What you mean?' He said, 'I'll be through.' That's what he told me." Shared carries with Felix Jones and still ran for 1,647 yards and 14 TDs, gaining 5.8 yards per carry. As of summer 2007, Darren McFadden's the top prospect in the draft. He caught only 11 passes (149 yards, 1 TD) last year, so I'd like to see that aspect of his game improve.
Now with McFadden, he is a projected top 3 pick. So we get him first, possibly trade Barber or Jones for some more first round picks, maybe a back-up QB. We can take maybe 2 Top 15 recivers, then we have a great young core around Romo and Owens.

Shake, unless we're dealing with LT, Steven Jackson, or someone on that level, RBs don't get traded for first round picks; and surely not Jones or Barber (they're hurting both their stats anyway). Just be content with that Browns pick.

I'm content, it was just an idea. Lol, something to get more young guys on the Cowboys. I really like next years draft, and I like how the Browns are looking too. If I'm Wade Phillips or the guys sitting in the front office, I gotta be thinking it will be a good offseason for the cowboys.

Well we do have 2 first rounders, so getting McFadden + _______ isn't out of the question.

DeSean is a great punt returner, but we have Tyson Thompson for that, and I haven't seen enough of his WR ability (granted the season just started)

Manningham looks money to me, since Doucet will be gone by our pick at 32

Bowman, could still be there. But, McFadden seems like a top priority. Also, with DeSean, he isn't a bad receiver, in factI really like his game. However, true to your words, we need a RECEIVER not punt returner, o Bowman or Manningham look good.

Urretia has mental problems (drops, stupid penalties, personal fouls), I wouldn't want him if I was an NFL fan.

Bowman on the other hand is a beast, he's like 2% body fat or something ridiculous, and he's a true WR.

Why I became a Cowboys fan: My parents don't follow football, so growing up, I followed football on my own. I lived in a rural area and while I was growing up, we didn't have cable (until H.S.). So, the Cowboys were on regular TV, and I grew up watching them.
Year I became a fan: IIRC, 1991. I think the first game I watched was the Cowboys playoff game against the Lions where we got destroyed. I was cheering for the Cowboys, and have been since.
Favorite all time Cowboy: Michael Irvin
Favorite current Cowboy: Either Ware or Barber
Favorite moment: Super Bowl blowout of Buffalo
    Players met: none
Jerseys I have: Deion Sanders, Emmitt Smith, Demarcus Ware

Why I became a Cowboys fan: Since I don't grow up near any Major sports cities, I grew up liking the teams my dad likes (Cowboys, Celtics, Maple Leafs)
Year I became a fan: good golly early 80's the days of Randy White, Ed 'too tall' Jones, Steve Peuller and of course Tony Dorsett.
Favorite all time Cowboy: whew, have to go with Emmitt but I like a lot more
Favorite current Cowboy: Marion Baber, Jay Witten, Demarcus Ware, Roy Williams
Favorite moment: All 3 SB's in the 90's, but the most memorable moment I can recall from my youth was watching the Cowboys vs Vikings game and Tony Dorsett takes it 99 yards for a TD!
    Players met: umm yeah right.
Jerseys I have: Emmitt Smith #22

NBA, NFL and MMA are my fav 3 sports in no particular order. I don't analyise football the way I do the other two, I enjoy watching it, seeing the game and the final scores, but I love the game and my Boys [IMG]
