I like Copp but not as a 2nd line center. He’s better at wing . Probably won’t sign him back. I hope they can keep Motte. He’s old but maybe kick the tires on Paul Stastny for a year?? LAF and Kakko should be playing in the top 6 this season

I would not buy out Nemeth. At least until next year. I still don't believe if you included Lundkvist or Jones in a trade you couldn't make a team take him. I'd love to have Kadri but I don't know how that is going to work.

If they put Nemeth in Hartford that even saves half his salary so they may just end up doing that like at the end of this year. You probably could just give a team like Arizona a 2nd and a Skinner type prospect to take him.

Maybe if they get Kane they would send Nemeth back to CHI

That definately is the type of thing Chicago will be doing for the next few years, taking on dead weight for extra picks/prospects.

Maybe they’ll take a shot at Dylan Strome. Big center, 20g scorer…. Not a pure top 6 center but better than nothing

I've seen Trocheck mentioned as well, not sure I love that one.

Honestly it looks like they don’t want to bring Copp, Strome, Vatrano and maybe Motte back and want Kadri. I think bringing Motte back is crucial. I’m pissed they haven’t signed him yet.

Trochek always scores against the rangers. I like him better as a top 9 guy. He did score 70+ points one season

If they sign him to play third line center then it’s fine. Then include Chytil and Lunqist in package for second line center

I see they want him to play with Panarin. Basically flipping Ryan Strome for Ryan Strome like then it’s dumb

54.9% on faceoffs the past 3 seasons, one of the best clips in the league. That is huge in itself. Second line center on a good CAR team. Very good skating (faster than Copp and Strome), hits and forechecks, a better puck retriever, good shooting volume, maybe a little undersized but otherwise checks every box we were looking for in a 2C to compliment Panarin. Played for Gallant in Florida and wore a letter. Really not much to complain about, unless you wanted to get a PLD or JT Miller and risk losing guys like Laf or Key next year when they need new deals. The cap is not moving for the next 2 years.

Another bonus is that adding PLD or JTM would keep Laf/Kakko off the 1PP yet again. Trocheck will not, and can bump down and play 3C seamlessly if Chytil breaks out and earns top 6 minutes.

Zib-Trocheck-Chytil-Goodrow is very good down the middle. I like it.

    He'll be the # 2 C, and I guess would get paid in the mid 5's +/-.

Curious to see where his deal lands against other comparable guys like Copp and Strome.
