You think a streaming service is putting a go pro on a men's urinal.

    "Look at all the streaming!"

What the heck? $5/month? They could get away with $50/month. Its gotta end up more expensive than that.

I was thinking the same. It's what, basically 5 months? September, October, November, december, January? Currently Sunday ticket is around 300 bucks, right? So people have already shown they'd pay 60 bucks a month and it's gonna start at 5?!

Maybe the difference is, it would be their own network, and it would still have commercials, of which they would get ALL of the money.

So it may be more valuable to make it dirt cheap, but available to 100 million households for advertising purposes.

So maybe you pay $60 per year, but you're worth $350 per year in advertising, so getting more subscribers is worth far more than charging more per subscriber.

Just throwing numbers out there as a fer instance.

They're aware of illegal streams. Think of how much more money they will get if people who would normally stream it illegally are like, "meh $5 is nothing, I'll pay that."

Also, illegal streams can't be quantified to advertisers. If they can massively up their subscriptions, they can sell that reach to advertisers.

    Look at the demand curve.
You might get more revenue at $5 per month.
You definitely get more viewers/exposure and advertising revenue.
If this is true. Seems too cheap.

edit: cost doesn't increase if they increase viewers.

I don't watch the NFL at all until the playoffs.
I'm certainly not paying $50 a month to do it.
At $5 a month, both paying and watching would change.

I'd be willing to pay up to $500 for the season to watch all the Raiders games.

They are to me. Davante Adams this year is gonna be a beautiful thing to watch.

We made the playoffs last year with complete dysfunction.

Hardest division in football, but I think folks will be surprised.

Football is more fun than basketball because any given Sunday.

This thread inspired me to reactivate my Fantasy Football league for this year. This commissioner thanks you! Let the games begin! I always start the season strong but then stop giving Adonal Foyle once NBA starts. We'll see if I can take home the ship this season!
