Just want to point out that by signing Jabari means we can trade him now. I wonder which undersized guard we will get for him?
not anymore. i'm retiring from that thankless job. never amounts to any new info and you start to feel like a creeper.
Maybe favor to him and agent if there is zero chance we will keep him I guess so he can play elsewhere. I woulda thought we keep him for a trade or to flip at the deadline to dip below the luxury tax.
Most often they are veteran minimum. But that can only be a 2 year deal. Teams usually use a cap exception to sign for more years such as the amount the Blazers currently have available in the MLE after signing Hard Cap Payton. So I'd expect its the minimum, but we don't know if its 2, 3 or 4 years. Probably likely its 3 or 4.
It doesn't really matter because 4th has to be a team option but if we exercise it he becomes UFA right ?
Can we do 4 with him as an RFA at the end? Seems like that would be ideal. 4th year at small salary could be a huge benefit if he becomes a rotational player.
What's his alternative, sign for a two way and don't lock up ~$5 million? Many second round picks don't even get a minimum salary. Teams get stuck paying scrubs like Elleby or Didi, flip side is having a guy on a cheap deal if he does well.
