My dad got season tix in 1974. I grew up going to the games with him. Great bonding experience. When my dad passed away in 2002, I inherited the tix. Started bringing my son as soon as he could say ‘basketball’. I brought him to his first Vegas Summer League about 5 years ago. I learned then that he had a stronger butt than me. He could easily watch 3 games back to back and still want more. Now that he’s old enough to drink and gamble, this annual trip is getting more and more expensive! I wouldn’t miss it for the world though. Good times.
There aren't suites at Summer League. It's way more laid back than that. You pay general admission and can sit wherever you want for 4 or 5 straight games and you can come and go.
Started this tournament in Vegas. Ending it in Ann Arbor. To be honest there is plenty going on here as well.
Yep! My dad had upper section end-zone seats in the Memorial Coliseum. When the Blazers moved to the Rose Garden, I relocated to section 321, front row of the upper section, more along the side. Best of the cheap seats. Each year they allow season ticket holders to relocate if they chose by priority number based on how long you’ve had season tickets. There are less than 50 season ticket holders with a higher priority number than what we have. When my son inherits these tickets from me, he’ll probably move court side!
Northern Michigan (traverse city and north) is some of the most beautiful country around. Stunning views. I was hoping to move there someday but it's also very expensive there now lol.
I took a road trip up through Michigan in early to mid April of '19. Still brutally cold in the Detroit area, while the UP was still covered in deep snow, with blizzard warnings all the way. Fortunately I kept it in my rear view mirror for the most part but didn't dodge it completely. I don't think Spring starts till at least June in Michigan. That said, it is still a very fun place to visit. Lots to see and do. I highly recommend Marquette regardless of the time of year. And be sure to try the pasties while you're there......
