re-read my post. i never said this.

i said pathway for minutes after showing flashes. the avenue for Shaedon to "earn" minutes involves beating at least one of Hart or Nas out, or beating out the guy they invested almost 30 mil on as our big free agent splash. This is a fairly unreasonable ask for most rookies, regardless of where they were drafted.

I dont think anyone is against Sharpe playing as a rookie, as long as he earns it. But just guaranteeing him "16-20" minutes a night? Like, whose expense is that even coming at because Dame, Simons, Hart, Payton, and Nas are all guaranteed 20+ minutes.

Totally agree, he needs to earn the minutes.
Look at Jermaine O'neal play less than 15 minutes game his 4 seasons here then went to Indy and played 30 plus and became an instant star.
He didnt play here because we were a playoff contender with legit star front court.
I doubt blazers knew he would pop like he did once he played 30 plus per night. If they did he wouldn't have been traded.

Hey, I was agreeing with you man. You provide a public service for this forum. I don't know where we'd be without.

The only reason I think forcing Sharpe minutes is different than a normal rookie is because he already sat out a year. If you don't force him minutes this season then by next season he'd be over 2.5 years removed from playing in high school. This is a rare case where I think making sure you don't completely lose him is more important than making him earn it. It's such a tough position to be in for Chauncey and is why I wasn't thrilled with selecting someone who needed reps even if he wasn't ready. Now, this could all be moot points if Sharpe does earn the minutes right away.

Depth is usually a good problem to have, if you're winning, so hopefully that is the case. I'm just so confused why they traded away CJ/Norm for "flexibility" only to use that flexibility on loading up the same position.

Every single Blazer player said Jermaine was the best player in practice. On a team with some damn good players, that's saying a lot. He was also promised minutes that never came.

I wonder if Cronin made any promises.

Yeah you can be aggressive, or you can act like a victim when someone calls you out on your own condescension. People handle things differently I suppose.

You aren't wrong, but I would offer 2 caveats. First, giving players minutes without making them earn them can have a variety of negative consequences. Second, this approach is inconsistent with the team's "win now" public stance.

So many threads turn into Scalma telling everyone to cry. You'd think he has a sexual fetish of seeing/thinking about people crying.

I try to cry... but alas I have never actually shed a tear while surfing this forum. I think there's something wrong with my tear ducts.

Isn't it funny how most of us are almost all in the same boat except for a few minor disagreements and then one person gets overboard and disrespectful, and the whole convo goes awry? (usually the same suspects) but just ruins the forum experience.

Like literally everyone here wants to see Shaedon succeed AND earn minutes.

Looking forward for my break from posting. Such a toxic environment at times.

It has never bothered me because life is full of discourse. It would be weird if there wasn't people like scalma. Harmony is boring.

There has only ever been one person on this board that really took it to an unacceptable level and that was PapaG. He tried to go after people outside of the forum. He tried to get people fired.

I remember when they traded Moses Malone because of the minute issue, and we know the rest of that story too.
    They knew what they had.

there's enough discord in my real life. i use the forum (and the blazers) as a release from that. Internet bullies are just annoying to me. I mean, "go cry more?" For expressing an opinion? Like who the fuck says that? whatever...

I'll be back if something of note happens but I'll just read what people write and be done posting til training camp. :byebye:
