My favorite moronic argument has been "there's no cross examination, no other points of view"... 1) these aren't political enemies coming forth, they are his own people. 2) They had opportunities to put republicans up there to do that cross examination, but they were all pulled from it. You can't say you didn't have a chance to defend when you, the republicans, took away all the people off the committee that would do just that. 3) this whole thing is indefensible.
