Julio is too damn good. The team is way different with him in the lineup.

If that's actually the way it works, that's dumb. 3rd div winner and 1st wildcard should both host series'.

You would think. And I didn't dive deep so you may be right but the way they have it written up it reads that way. So I may have just authored some misinformation lol.

I would think DW faces #3 wild card and #1 hosts #2 wild card as well and honestly that's the way it should be if it isn't.

I'm just too lazy and unfocused to get a concrete answer lol

If you were born The/One of The G.O.A.T’s of any sport in the world.

What sport would it be, and why?

    NBA?
    NFL?

    Tennis?
    Soccer?

    Table Tennis?

    Soccer would be my answer.

Drink for free at any pub when I retire. Competitive sport. Big time competitions. I guess all pro sports do… Like the Playoffs, or Olympics. But the World Cup is massive.

Realistically if aliens showed up to earth and challenged us to our greatest sporting competition it’s probably going to be the Olympics, or the World Cup. Depending on what they look like, we might fare better at soccer.

I know it’s OT but I’m supporting this mariners thread.

Big trade for Castillo that looks to be 4 minor leaguers, including Marte.

We gave up two big prospects for Castillo (Marte and Arroyo, both SS) and a couple middle ranked dudes. Makes sense why we drafted a SS in the first round. Also signed an international SS prospect named Felnin Celestin who will probably be ranked higher than Marte is.

Glad to get another ace. Castillo, Ray, Gilbert, Kirby and Hancock in a few years could be a nasty rotation. I’d hope to trade Ray by then tbh if anyone will take that contract.

still really need to add a bat or two though. The offense can be anemic at times

    The offense pisses me off.

And no Soto. Padres probably have them. Machado, Tatis, Soto. Lord almighty.

They seem to be in win now mode while their best player is a 21 year old

doing everything possible to make the playoffs. Kirby can’t put too many innings on his arm this year. I wouldn’t be surprised to see bullpen starts and him coming in the second inning

Didn't they send Kirby back down? Maybe I misread a headline.

i think they sent him down before the break to save his arm since he doesn’t have much innings in his minor league career. He was brought back up after the all star break and started I think the game on Monday. He’s scheduled to pitch tomorrow.

they are being really cautious with him. As they should.
