Who agree with Dame? Should we retire Jersey #7?

The problem is he didn't win anything here. He didn't have an MVP season. He made 3 allstar teams, 1 all nba second team and one all nba third team. He played 5 seasons and despite what Dame said about Roy having been the greatest Blazer of all time if he hadn't gotten hurt, the numbers don't show that. He never dominated like Dame or Clyde and definitely not for the duration they have. He was a three time allstar who played five seasons with us and never won a playoff series.

If we retire Roy's jersey, we are the definition of bushleague.

    Without question.
    Yes.
    My reason, is simple.
Personally, I probably would not be the Blazer fan I am today if it not for Brandon.
I went to the games in 1970..Been there, done all that..
But sometime in the 90's, I just got fed up....
A combination of Terry Porter dribbling the ball off his foot in Game 6 of the '92 Finals (I will always believe Portland was the better team!) and the jailblazers era... I literally divorced them and just became an NBA fan. (which is perfect for my job, now)..
But it was the combo of Roy and Nate that brought me back, and I will always hold a special place for them, for that reason.
We all know the "what if's" associated with that team.
That was a championship just waiting to happen, IMO.

It all depends on whether you believe Mike Barrett.

If the team was really considering leaving Portland, and Roy helped keep the team here...... I would say retire his number.

But I'm not sure if I honestly believe that we were gonna leave.

Thus the reason Dame said "if he didn't get hurt"
Of course, that would most definitely have been the case for Bill Walton....had he not gotten hurt.

    I agree with Dame.
I don't think we should retire his number.

I say YES! He brought me back to being the euphoric fan i am now. His performance against Dallas, when his knees were shot, was other worldly. The Blazers were a joke in the Jailblazer era. Roy & LaMarcus, and even Oden brought a sense of, We're back. He was dominant for a 3 year period. And the second best closer in Blazers history IMO. I know the Blazers retired way too many numbers of players that really aren't at that level, but Roy brought pride in being a Blazers fan back. And on the hierarchy of this franchise, he's in the Top 10, IMO.

If Brandon had stayed in touch and part of the Blazer fam he would have had his number retired a while back.

I wear 7. Based on that, I definitely feel the number should be retired.

What makes you think that was on him? I think PA was pissed about the TWolves stint and gave Brandon the brush-off.

He didn't play with the Wolves for a year or so after he retired. You could be right however that Paul was pissed. To me Roy seemed to brush the Portland fan's off.

Roy was a butthole to Andre Miller. Many of us were team Miller during that debacle. Roy didn't like playing without his security Blakey.
