I think most will agree with you about the injuries, but you said "we're about a half a decade away from good basketball" from him?

Most who watched him in January, when he averaged over 30 minutes a game, would disagree with that. His production was very good, which is why many are excited about him this next year. But sure he needs to stay healthy, as do a long number of players in the NBA last year who got hurt.

Well, we can pick any player and say, "He had a good 100 minutes" or "He had a good quarter". He definitely had his moments last year, but that doesn't detract from the point I was trying to make (I totally recognize I might not have been clear, sorry!)

I don't think Nasir Little had a good year last year... if he was healthy all year and got 9.8 ppg along with the rest of his stats, he'd be fine for a third-year player. If he did that for the rest of his career I think that we'd all be in agreement he wasn't a particularly effective NBA player.

If he averaged nearly 10 point a game for the rest of his career with good defense, rebounding, and hustle you’re telling me he wasn’t a particularly effective player? Lol I am laughing out loud. The dude was drafted at 25, if he stay healthy we got a freaking steal with him. Btw PJ Tucker never averaged more than 9.4 point a game, look where he is now

Nas had a pretty good season all things considered. I think you are putting too much stock into scoring. If he averaged around 8rpg per 36 the rest of his career, is he particularly effective? What about the way he played on ball defense—if he didn’t progress at all in that department, is he still an effective NBA player?

It’s also kind of ludicrous to think he won’t improve in EVERY aspect of his game though barring injury. Even with the injuries, we saw a huge leap from year 2 to year 3. There are other things he’s doing to get better even while injured. For example, half of being a better team defender is watching film.

Anyone who was on board with trading a decent package for OG should be completely fine with extending Nas for 3yrs/$40m or 4yrs/$50m, but that’s just me.

I would be perfectly happy with 10lbs. One thing I loved about watching him last year was that every game I was able to watch that he played, he was finishing through contact easyyy.

Adding 10-15lb muscle would put him at 230-235lb, and with his explosiveness and athleticism, he’ll be dominant in transition if he can work on his handle on the fast break. I certainly wouldn’t expect him to add that much in one offseason though.

20lb of muscled would be exciting though.
