My understanding is the 87,000 hires is over a decade..... might be just a lot of replacing folks that are retiring and getting back up to levels before their hiring freezes over the last decade of being defunded. Even if it is just getting them back to pre-defunding levels? I mean, I posted that they anticipate 55k positions will be people retiring. So i'm not convinced they are actually hiring 87,000 new positions over the next decade. That seems like a GOP scare tactic. Some of the IRS agent positions bring back a return on investment.
