There is definitely a reason he chose to instantly unfollow Sharpe the same day they met at practice facility before the official introduction presser (and the same day Dame posting photoshop image of Durant in Blazers jersey) whether it's just tough love rookie hazing or something deeper or more grandiose...idk
Likely just some sort of rookie type hazing. Dame has shown he likes to take in the young rookie guards. Cj/Frazier/Ant/etc. I bet Dame has already reached out in a leadership, good teammate way and made it clear Sharpe will be carrying his bags this year and they are all good on their inner circle that the public doesn't see. Dame seems to get a kick out of incorrect media frenzies. He lets them run with stories with little to no truth. I bet its just an inside joke and part of Dame would get some entertainment if the media tried to stir fry up some nonsense fued between them. Hell, with how the media runs with things, Id be pulling the strings on them too. Lol.
I still can't get excited about a guy who has never even played against g-leaguers. I am of the mindset he will see minimal time this year. Garbage minutes etc.
I think he will get minutes and earn more as season goes on. Chauncey being a world championship basketball guru knows a player like him cannot set for basically two years if you dont play him. He will get 12-15 mpg and then earn more probably after all star break.
Maybe or maybe not, I guess we will see. I don't think Chauncey seem like the coach to give an undeserving player minutes if a different player will have superior on the court contributions.
Chauncey had a pass last year on wins/losses; nobody in the organization cared. He won't have that pass this coming season, he'll need to win games and he very likely won't be concerned, at all, with developmental minutes for young guys
Plus Dames comment during our summer league game about Sharpe was concerning. He made it seem like the kid had motivation problems and was publicly challenging him..
What was Dame's comment? I remember a comment, I just don't remember one being concerning.....since Dame did not know him at that point.
Sure, he wont give undeserved minutes out, but the #7 pick in the draft that hasn't played in a year isn't going to sit out too many games. I see him 12-15 We will see.
"I’ve been in the facility every day, just training, working on my body, doing just normal maintenance stuff. lifting, on the court. He’s been there since a little bit after the draft. We’ve played some ones from certain spots. He jumped in and played with us. So he’s super-talented, super gifted, but you’ve just got to get out there and play. You’ve got to see it in live action and put him in the mix. When you’re picked that high, you’ve just got to have that pride about going out there and showing people why, living up to being that high of a pick. I think everybody that’s been picked in that Top 10, they go out there saying, 'I’m a Top 10 pick and I need to show these people.' I’ve been there. Now he’s in that position. We’re looking forward to him coming out and showing why." To me that's not a commentary on anything he saw that Shaedon is/was doing wrong just a call to action. All positive IMO.
...sure they do! But also, it's even harder to 'unfollow' someone so no accidental click(s) going on here
I know, Sly’s value here is deep. thats why it makes it a fair trade without tossing anyone else in the trade. If that's not enough for Brooklyn, they can suck it.
Clearly he peeped these things about him and was saying act like you have pride on how high he was selected
