Sure, but would they want to give up picks for Kyrie? Maybe not.

Incorrect, Kyrie can't play in Toronto.

He is unpredictable I guess. He just signed a huge extension for mega bucks and several years, then he makes these kinds of demands.
Wouldn't surprise me if Steve Nash resigned.

Rod was a really good player. But it's hard to believe the Blazers couldn't attract a bigger star somewhere in their history. Obviously the greatest players in Blazers history were drafted. Maurice Lucas was drafted in the ABA Dispersal Draft. Hopefully we can look back one day and GP II is on the list. And hopefully we look at Jerami Grant & Josh Hart as the best trade acquisitions, along with Buck Williams. That would , obviously, mean their acquisitions led to big things.

I actually don't think this says much about big v small markets. It really shows that GMs are (for the most part) really shrewd and rarely let superstars go via free agency. If a superstar is in a lameduck season with his team, a good GM finds out where that superstar wants to be and gets compensation for them. I mean Horford or Kemba are the best Celtics acquisitions ever and the Knicks got Allan Houston.

What I'm saying is that getting a superstar in free agency just isn't a likely way for any GM in any market to try and build the core of a contending team. Getting a superstar free agent is like a lightning strike and I guess the Lakers have a lightning rod but who else has really benefited from this phenomenon multiple times and even when they seemingly did how many times has it resulted in sustained success as a legit contender?

I feel like that tweet is missing a few words in it. Like, drew the best defender...most often? Most minutes guarded?

Lillard didn’t play much last year. So this is kind of a weird tweet from the beginning?

It was a minimum of1k minutes played, and he just made it at 1056. I'm just wondering, with as little as he played, is it a super impressive stat, because it's most minutes, or is it still impressive, but slightly less so, as a percentage of minutes played. Either way, extra stats are always nice, and sounds like following that thread, they're expanding others as well. Just curious the context of this one.

One other issue is Lillard clearly was not playing well due to injury. I wonder if that has any affect on the way it’s interpreted?

How did Andre Miller not get honorable mention for free agent signings for Portland?

If the list was written by a Portland- based writer, Andre Miller would make honorable mention

Brian Grant was a fairly significant free agent addition by Portland. His battle against Karl Malone in the 1999 playoffs is legendary
