Berard went back to college. If you were on the WJC team twice and have 2 years of college and don't go pro, tells me the kid isn't serious about becoming a pro. He was eligible to play in the AHL this season. Same for Vierling. I would get rid of both these kids at the deadline. Barron wasn't on the WJC team. Not as much hype so I could understand him going back for a third year. Not Berard. Let somebody else try to make him a pro. Grubbe has 5 A in 3 games so far. It would be nice for him to have a big season offensively. Barbashev has 4 G, 5 points in 5 games. I liked that pick. Laba has 2 g 1 A in 2 games for Colorado. Let's see if he can keep it up. Sykora has 3 A in 4 games. Hoping he can be around a PPG in his league. Othmann has 4 G, 8 points in 4 games. Expected him to dominate.
Korczak has 2 A and is a +3 in his pre-season games. Our fan base is lost on this kid. He was a beast in the dot in juniors. Garand 9 for 9 in saves. Robertson looks a ton better this year. He will be Schneider's long term partner. Korczak is very important for this organization as he's a center. Rydahl had a point. Henriksson had a goal. Incredible.
Pack lost 4-3. Cuylle with a goal. Robertson 2 A. He looks like he is ready to make the jump at some point this year to the NHL. I have no idea why Korczak didn't play. Stupid. Unless he was hurt or something like that. Othmann had 2 G A. Now 6 G 5 A in 5 games. McC-Barker two assists. Won 24 out of 29 faceoffs. Grubbe had 1 g, 2 A. Getting PP play time this year. Now has 1 G, 7 A in 4 games.
Korczak didn’t play again. If he’s a healthy scratch I’m gonna be pissed. Cuylle had an assist. McC Barker had 2 goals.
Other than Othmann and Sykora, McB may be the best forward in the system, with Korczak/Grubbe/Berard next.
Garand has a .911 save % and a 2.68 GA for the Pack. This is great news. He's 20 and Halak looks washed up. Sykora has 1 G 4 A in 10 games in the Slovak league. Not bad. McC-Barker has 6 G, 6 A in 12 games. Improving. Laba has 4 G, 4 A in 8 games for Colorado. Exciting. He has good size also. That is tied for the team lead so it's not like the team is carrying him. Barbashev has 5 g, 6 A in 11 games. Improving also. Othmann has 10 G 13 A in 13 games. As expected. Grubbe has 15 points in 11 games. Much better. Vierling finally getting a clue with 4 G, 7 A in 6 games. Chemlar has 5 points in 7 college games. Not bad. Berard has 0 g, 4 A in 7 games because he was a pussy and didn't turn pro.
I'd probably say 1. Othmann 2. Garand 3. Robertson 4. Cuylle 5. Korczak That would be my top 5. Past that it's too early to tell for most of these guys.
I agree. It’s a shame Othmann can’t be playing in the ahl right now. I suspect he may make his debut with the big club in the spring like Kreids did.
Berard finally did something. 2 g, 1 a. Laba had 2 goals. 6 g. 4 a in 9 games for Colorado. He’s becoming very interesting. Pack got ass whooped. Looks like Robertson is out with some kind of injury I hope he’s not too bad. That would suck he was off to a nice start.
Interesting rangers top prospect Brennan Othman traded from flint to Peterborough. Surprising they would trade their captain but may be things going on internally with him and his team. He was just suspended 2 games for firing the puck at the other teams players bench! hope this was an isolated incident and not this kid turning into a head case. Its the first bad thing I've heard about him. Hopefully he learns from it and just concentrates on playing.
They played well without him so maybe they feel like he is leaving next year which he is and they can rebuild the team quickly. It's actually a smart move. I'm not worried. Kid is a stud with an off the chart work ethic.
From crappy HF. " i have two grandparents that are struggling with health issues and being closer to home to be w/my family is what makes sense to me at the moment. i hope fans can understand that" I guess one guy said that now Othmann is going to play with a great center for once. That this is a good move. I usually don't believe 99% of the crap on HF but this I do believe.
