I guess that's why I don't really like watching soccer (despite playing regularly for 30 years and loving every minute of it). Only two goals scored. game ends in a tie. Tie is result of a penalty kick. Not any really brilliant plays.

    Argentina

They didn’t take Saudi Arabia seriously, and that’s what happens.

Something like 20% of the time a team loses their first match and advances from group. I like Argentinas chances to be 1/5 teams to do so.

Was surprised to see the result. Huge disappointment.

1-1, 0-0 draws are what make the sport what it is. It’s great in my opinion.

Can’t agree more. The game lacked in overall excitement.

You’ve got a nice perspective having played it for that long. So you know what the game is like as a player.

I only played when I was young.

Japan Vs Germany was the match I was torn about.

Must say, I’m content with the result.
    Japan 2
    Germany 1

    Konnichiwa Japan!

Wow, impressive. Always nice to see traditional powers receive more than they bargained for.

Announcers kept mentioning Germany’s loss to Mexico 4 years ago and the German’s disappointing 2018.

Going to be tough for them now. Will need to beat Spain and Costa Rica, while hoping for the loser of Japan Vs Spain to have a tough game against Costa Rica.

*Spain currently up 1-0 against Costa Rica*

Germany won the World Cup like 12-16 years ago. I think Thomas Muller was on that squad.

Edit: They won it in 2006 and 2010.

I think France has been the most impressive so far. The defending champs looked like such.

It’s got to feel good to be an England fan and see that last cups golden boot winner H.Kane didn’t even score a goal in their 6-2 thrashing of Iran.

Those two teams are going to meet rather early if things go both Nations’ way. Might bode well for the runner up in the group.

Spain 3-0 over Costa Rica 30’

Rough day for Germany fans. I’d bet it’s total meltdown mode for them.

Spain looks good but Costa Rica is trash. Panama was ahead of them in qualifying until like the last week lol

Damn! How is my Spain pick looking now. Seems like a sure thing they advance out of group play and teams like Germany and Argentina and US are a bit on the ropes

With Irans win over Wales, the USA will advance with a win over Iran as long as Wales doesn’t beat England.

1 game at a time, a win over England today would be huge.

A draw is better than a loss.
