If I could do more I would. I also advocate for these ideas and policies in local meetups etc.

I'm literally doing all I can.

Proposing legislation in a bill with other policies which are sure to be defeated is definitely virtue signaling. 100%

Not good enough. If you actually cared, you'd have fixed the problem by now. You are obviously happy with the way things are.

At least, I'm told that's the way this works. Right?

So you would prefer them to do nothing and not pass bills.

I would prefer making it it's own bill and pushing it harder.

Fixing this is the only way to get anything else productive done.

Separating things out into different bills could be way to go. It's hard to get so many to be heard and voted on though, so I understand putting several together.

The Dems need both chambers with a better majority in the Senate then they have had. But, it's just going to get harder and harder to win viable majorities.

When self described progressives won a majority on board of education in Ohio, Republican controlled legislature responded by stripping board of authority over classroom content, policy and curriculum. Now legislature controls curriculum so they can make sure nothing is taught that makes white people uncomfortable, no one says gay and trans kids can't use restroom.

Lisa Murkowski, one of the last moderate Republicans, beat Trump backed candidate to hold her Senate seat. Also in Alaska, Democratic candidate Mary Pertola beat Sarah Palin for Congressional seat.

Yeah, that's one of the Republicans moves. Get control of the legislature, rewrite the voting maps so they keep control of it no matter what, then if Democrats/progressives/liberals win any other race in the state, they vote to take all their power away. Then if a Republican eventually wins it back, give back the power. Repeat.

It's what they did in Wisconsin, where gerrymandering guarantees Republicans control the state legislature with less than 45% of the vote. When a Republican was elected governor they passed legislation giving him extensive executive power. When a Democrat was elected they took it all away.

Yep. Evers a Democrat is Governor there, but he has no power.

We will see more and more States where Republicans control the legislature do this, especially with this current supreme court backing them.

What was billed as a huge rally in Arizona demanding a redo of 2022 election drew about five people.

That was like the crowd at the Puppet Show/Spinal Tap gig when they played the jazz improv piece written by Derek Smalls.

Refusing to certify could flip an election.

I think as time goes on dems will find it easier to get majority in both house and senate. Even in traditional Red States there are big increases in dem registration.
