Died today at 71 from a short battle with cancer...fuck cancer. She was great in Cheers...that's the era I know her work from. Talented comedic actress gone too soon!

Sucks, all these folks are dying that are in my age group or not far ahead. I want to live at least another 30 years and I'm just 3 years younger than Kirstie

Is there higher cancer rates than 30 years ago? I want you to live 30 more years also.

In 1992 there were 1.1 million new cancer cases in the US. In 2022 there will be a predicted 1.3 million new cases.

How much has the US population gone up in those 30 years?

    75.5 million or 2.5 million a year.

To clarify there is predicted to be 1.3 million total new cases of cancer, not deaths from it this year. There will be an estimated 609,000 deaths this year from cancer in the US. Not all of those will have been from new cases.

In 1992, 1-3 people who died in the US, died of cancer. In 2022 that number jumps to 5-10.
