I guess I should have said left wanting. He's so damned lackadaisical and refuses outright to beast. He does alot of good things and I agree Chauncey is not using him right. Maybe it's time to trade him.

Chauncey basically admitting they are too small to compete on many nights. He says they can just try to play hard, and that is all they can do.

I hesitate to judge how "ready" a team is to play because there are so many behind the scene circumstances I'm unaware of. Corey Jez said the data indicated we got above average qaulity shots in the 1st half compared to our standard averages. I don't know where that data comes from though.

I do know in reading twitter and multiple teams message boards, virturally every fan base complains during/after losses about the following:
    • Lack of adjustments
    • Poor use of timeouts
    • Bad substitutions
    • Effort
    • Defending the 3, PnR, and/or drives to the basket.
    • Not getting to the rim enough
    • The refs
It's hard for me to believe all 30 NBA teams can be below average at the exact same things.

Yeah, I don't know why but they have had really bad stretches of low energy basketball and it's not encouraging about this roster or the coaching staff. Chauncey preaches a lot of movement on both ends but that's not what we're seeing and he preaches passing because the ball can move faster than any player but when our guys pass half the time it's moving slower than any player because they are so lackadaisical.

It's rough to watch this team right now. The roster is a mess and they are playing less than inspired ball on both ends. I would like to see how Chauncey does with a roster that makes sense, especially one that makes sense with his philosophies but he's got to get the guys he has buying into those philosophies regardless of if they are succeeding or not. The effort to execute has to be there.

just because every fan base complains about this, doesn't mean it doesn't apply to our coach.

i wanted chauncey, but he has been underwhelming in in-game situations; he has admitted as much. i just am getting tired of waiting for him to figure it out. we can't afford to have < .500 seasons with dame in his prime while he learns on the job. that was what last year was for.

Can’t blame the defense tonight. Held the 7th rated offense well below their average.

    Correct.

Likewise... just because some of our fans are complaining about those exact same things, doesn't mean those things are happening and/or are a real problem.

I guess we'll never know which it is.

I would agree that our defense was good enough to win tonight.

Oh he is the most aggravating player we've had on this team in a long time. The fact that he should be around a 60% field goal guy and he never has been. The biggest guy who gets PT in the league because he has great feet for his size and great hands for any basketball player should be forcing double teams and a ton of fouls in the paint but our guy just won't go up strong. I'm usually really happy with his defense but Chauncey is squandering that. His offense has been maddening for years.

Yup, unfortunately we were conversely up against the 4th best defense in the league.

Ant reading off a note sheet for every question in the post game seemed odd.
I've normally turned it off by then, so don't see post game interviews. Does that regularly happen?

I don't remember that but Cronin said that this roster is a work in progress, that he was aware that it wasn't balanced enough with size but he wanted to see what guys looked like playing together and then make decisions close to the trade deadline.

I think Chauncey has the type of guys he likes in Josh, Nas, Justise and Gary... I think he's got to love the way Jerami Grant plays. That's a lot of guys on this roster that play his way but all of them besides Jerami fill the same role and you can only and only two guys at a time on the court can fill that role and those guys make 30M between the four of them and they are just the hustle role players that you need. Dame has been playing the best defense of his career but he's again playing in the back court with the worst defender starting and he's not getting any kind of synergy with him.

Joe should see that Dame and Ant have the same issue of being a bad fit that Dame and CJ did. Joe should see that Nurk doesn't work in Chauncey's system. Joe has to see that we are woefully undersized. Let's see if he'll do anything about it.

I can't help but think Terry would have junp started the offense over Chauncey and had better defense with this roster than the Melo Kanteer bench mob

We’re just lucky we don’t have the Clippers bench and depth, thank the lord above for that.

We did see this coming during the preseason though. We just got fooled by that 10-4 start. Which in the grand scheme of things was just barley over 10 games of the season only. We should have known better basically
