Well I think you gotta make a trade. If you consider Ant a future asset then yes, trade Ant + ? to get a SF with size and length and move either Hart or GPII (whichever isn't traded) to start next to Lillard and/or if you're really wanting to force some growth you can get wild and start Sharpe and take the losses until he becomes starter ready because why not, his growth is key to us ever reaching the next level.

If they can't make that trade for a difference maker (and I think Siakam is the only one who might be remotely available), then I am ok with tanking, which I guess is the same as staying the course.

I think a case can be made for both "go for it - trade for difference maker(s)" or "build for the future - trade vets for youth/picks".

But how is Hard Tank ASAP even work? That won't be done. That might be the same as staying the course though.

Hard tank might be if we trade a starter(s) for a player like Didi, as well as other youth that is nowhere near winning, and play them significant minutes, plus begin to sit any veteran starters with all sorts of minor "injuries". Look at what the Blazers did last year around the trade deadline, I'd call that a hard tank.

It all depends on how you think the team is doing right? If the front office saw this season as a .500 season with the talent they accumulated, they are pretty much where they should be and might stay the course.
If the front office thought this team was headed to home court advantage in the playoffs, then they better get to work.

    yeah....that's reasonable

I'd think it's also reasonable to assume the front office was operating a year ago with some instructions from Seattle about payroll and tax. And, that "staying the course" started with dismantling the previous roster and began with an assumption that the course was going to be a lot longer than a simple 10-month process.

I still have a hard time seeing how another 6'2 player and being hard-capped matched any intelligent course they plotted

The team should totally overreact like fans do.

Perhaps luck may change. We finally kept leads from the third to end of the 4th in the Spurs game. I wish wecould play them once a week.

They want 3 unprotected FRPs for OG. Can’t imagine what they want for Siakam.

Play Sharpe and Walker 35 minutes a game.

With Chauncey coaching there is no other way that the team will improve other than individual improvements of players (or through trades), and I think all the others have reached their potential with Billups as coach.
I'm not going to wait anymore for changes to schemes or rotations or anything after the recent dreadful losses followed by more of the same from our coach.

Boring answer, but the move is to improve your assests when the situation is clear that the franchise doesn't have enough of them to contend. The assets can be young or old, it doesn't matter to me as long as they are greater than what we are giving up and we continue on that path.

I voted to make trades to win now but I wouldn't necessarily call them future assets ....I want to get bigger and get some bench scoring....guys I'd trade are asseets now, not future assets. They say theey won't trade Ant but that's where I'd start.....looks like they'll trade Hart or Winslow more than likely. I'd love to keep Hart but...he could walk for nothing

I get that this team is missing "something", but technically we are just 1 game out of 6th (In the loss column) so a hard tank seems unlikely. I guess my answer would depend on who really is available that would be a difference maker.

This is a season to go for it if you can get the right players at the deadline....anybody could win the west and our schedule is easier than most from here on out.

Problem is we have to pass a bunch of teams to get to 6th. We could pass the current 6 seed and still be in 11th. Understand? We need a massive win streak to hop everyone and stay ahead.
