Definitely horrible defensive lapses and lazy defense tonight but too many missed chances to get atleast a third goal.

Kreids looks like he’s still hurt. That tying goal is on trouba who as usual failed to clear he zone like every other defenseman does. Kreids is on a great salary and on pace for 40 goals. Troubas contract is horrendous and is the one that needs to be traded. Trouba sucks ass. Kids played great tonight and were by far the best line. Unfortunately, our coach didn’t see it and gave them 15 minutes tonight instead of the 20 they deserved. This game we outplayed them and deserved more than the loser point.

That might explain his poor performance tonight Mel because CK was bad tonight and that second goal was totally on him. Poor overtime defense aside Igor has to stick check a guy coming across his crease. I thought the first goal was on the soft side as well. Can't leave a team with that kind of scoring hanging around. Drury did not look happy up in the press box.

I agree. Drury didn't look happy. Nor should he be. This coach has done jack shit to develop the young forwards. The fact he won't use them on the PP shows you why this guy keeps getting fired. I told you weeks ago when I was at MSG that the word was a lot of people weren't happy with Gallant.

If I had to guess who was number one on Drury's shit list other than Gallant it would be Panarin. It would be balsy for Drury to ask Panarin to accept a trade. They save pretty much nothing if they buy him out the way his contract is. Not sure how that works as the years become less.

GG took over and now Chytil, Kakko and Laf will all shatter their previous best scoring seasons and they have markedly improved their defensive play. All that's left now is consistency. Trouba was the first NHL player to reach 100 hits and 80 blocks weeks ago, he's not to blame when the forwards cherry pick instead of getting back on defense and he's not going anywhere. I agree Panarin can be frustrating but it's also frustrating to watch Artemi make great pass after pass and the Ranger on the receiving end doesn't have his stick on the ice and it ends up being a turnover. Toronto is a good team and the Rangers dominated them for most of the game.

Porter, while I agree Kreids was the last person with a chance to stop that goal and missed, my point was that trouba had clear clearing chance and as happens much too often with him he failed to do so causing the turmoil that ended up with a puck in our net. I know he only played 5 minutes but I thought Cuyyle looked ok last night. would like to see more but don't think that's in this coaches plans. Still wondering why our best line by far the whole night were stapled to the bench the last 5 to 7 minutes of the third period. With the way they were playing last night that's unacceptable. To move forward we need a trade like my Knicks did years ago when they traded bellamy for debusscher which changed the chemistry and led to knick titles. My eyes are looking at panarin to be the Bellamy in the rangers trade

Like I said. Watching Drury. Gallant or Panarin or both are in deep shit.

I don’t see Gallant getting fired this season. Panarin might get moved in the off-season depending on how he does in the playoffs.

As a fan, sometimes you get so used to losing that you forget how to act when your team is winning. It's ridiculous to think that a coach with one of the best starts in Rangers history is on the hot seat and the Captain of the team as well as their leading scorer both have to go. Now with the youth emerging under Gallant's leadership and all easily shattering their previous season bests I don't know if a trade for another center is imperative. I could see Drury signing gritty players for postseason depth.

Chytil is already at his career best for points in a season so he’ll definitely shatter that. Kakko is playing slightly better than his average ppg and Lafreniere won’t get to his 19 goals from last season but should surpass his point total, though not by much.

However, that Chytil at 23yo will be lucky to break 50pts and that neither Kakko or Lafreniere have broken past 40 points in a season, speaks to how crappy we are at developing forwards. They’re on pace for 39 points for Kakko and 38 for Lafreniere so they can realistically get 40+, but that’s actually pretty sad when it’s their 4th and 3rd season on the league, respectively.

And more likely than not, any veteran additions at the deadline will come to the detriment of Kakko and Lafrenier’s ice time.

The KK/Chytil/Laf line is playing well so even if it's a little less time than if they were broken up on other lines, the sum of the parts is what matters right now. They are essentially the 2nd line. I do think the team needs one more top 6 guy who can create and get into the zone on his own as we lack overall quickness and struggle a bit in the dump/chase aspect. Kane to me would be an addition if he's healthy that could get them back to an ECF level. Give them Krav/Jones/1st/Blais. Then you could also move Vesey down to the bottom 6 where he fits better.

I disagree 31, if they were showing zero progress I would get all the GG animus but they've all drastically improved their all around games from last year . NY is not an easy market to play in with all the distractions, all 3 seem to have managed the pressures and are playing with consistency the numbers will follow.
