...is because his name means eyeballs which means revenue. It's a very simple equation.

With SR basically in retirement mode by the time jr hits the court, do you think it would be anything more than a honeymoon fling for anyone who picks him up? (Unless jr far exceeds expectations).
For some teams i could see it as a locker room distraction hinderance.

“I scored 33 points this game, but the media surrounds bronnie cuz he went 2-3 from 3… wth???”

I'm only talking about Bronny's college attendance, not NBA. But if he does go one-and-done, he's on an NBA roster 18 months from now. Considering the way he's playing this season, I doubt Sr.'s fall-off will be so precipitous that teams won't clamor to sign Bronny for the benefit of the final year or two of his dad's career (on an MLE contract).

Thats the honeymoon im referring to. Some people are talking tank to get him for this reason. I think thats long term fools gold. Sure the first year or two would be media glory.
If Bronnie had half of his dads potential i would get it.

I haven't heard of anyone talking about tanking for Bronny. I do think there's a good chance that a team takes him in the first specifically so they can get a couple years of Lebron; absent his name, he appears to be fringe at best. Still, plenty of teams have spent more than a first-round pick on a 2-year gamble.

Phil will pay him more in NIL money than he can make on a rookie contract. He's going to work for Phil.

There will be a number of teams wanting to draft Bronny just to get a couple of years of LeBron for sure.

Hm, I wonder if LeBron has any eligibility left? He'd look good in a Duck uniform.

I suppose when put like that, it doesn't sound so bad.
Still think its an overhyped story NBA wise. LBJ is still putting up numbers, but cant win on his own. He needs someone like… Dame….

I’m curious if he’s all hype because he’s Lebron’s son. I randomly watched his team play on ESPN like a month ago and he seemed like he was the 3rd best player on his high school team

what NBA hype? Has anyone said anything glowing about his NBA potential? Is comparing him to GP2, who took all 4 years of college and then years of bouncing between the fringe of various NBA rosters & the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, hyping a guy? I think it's questionable if he'll get much PT in college as a Freshman or (if he stays) ever be a starter. Not much NBA demand for a 6'1 guy without above average PG skills or a jumper.

Wait? Just hold on to that for a second? He's only in high school. Could very easily be 6-3 or 4 in a year or two. I have a hard time thinking he will not work on his game?
That is of course if he really wants to? Lets not sell the kid short either. This is a kid of a man that has one of the highest BBIQ's in the game. Cannot imagine this kid not knowing the game very very well and the few reports i am reading is Bronny is already about 6-3 so i guess until he actually gets in College we will ll be waiting for that tale of the tape.
Here is another side note. His brother Bryce is only 15 and i am reading he's 6-6 already.

statistically it's very rare for guys to grow much this late.

of course he will... are you responding to something I wrote? From what you quoted me on, I was talking about the supposed NBA hype thats going to immediately pull him to the league. Not many kids go from lacking PG skills and a reliable J in a year plus to having either let alone both. I hope for the best for him and every kid though as I want to see great hoops.

again, not sure what this has to do with anything I expressed but okay

He's not been measured at 6'3, he self reported at 6'2 in September 2022 starting his Senior year of hoops. Given that most self reports of height for hoopers have them fibbing listing their with shoes on height (& then rounding up!) which bumps them up 1.5" or so, it might be generous to refer to him as 6'1. Lacking an actual measurement we really don't know but he sure looks small PG sized to me in the highlights I've seen. Certainly if he is bigger today or grows significantly, that makes him more valued as a player.

I love when people judge a player in ANY way because of who their dad is. LaMelo Ball on Line 1…..

You got to admit Bryce at 15 looks like he is worth looking at.

I’m saying in a negative light. People were killing the Ball kids basketball skills JUST because their dad was a dick.
