I've seem him saying wtf?! to Simons after Anfernee blows defensive assignments. Josh Hart is not a believer in greatness, therefore the thorn must be removed to better this team's chemistry. Multiple articles about trading Hart just got stamped for approval by the Blazers Front Office. How many quality NBA guards must be tested and traded to reinforce a Lillard/Simons backcourt? Will Shaedon be next ??
IMO, it would be a mistake to trade Josh if we can keep him at a reasonable price. Learder on the floor and can bring the ball up. If he comes off the bench he would be much more of a scorer than he is as the 5th option now as a starter. He's exactly the kind of player you want on this team, only way you trade him, is if you have to include for an all star caliber player. That won't happen.
another scenario when you need to trade him: when he’s a free agent and he’s probably not coming back…so you get something for him especially when he’s desirable to contenders
I think a better statement would be Anfernee is not a believer in defense. Ant is far from great and has a very one-dimensional game. Oh sure, he occasionally has something that makes you think he may be more than one-dimensional but such are illusions. Josh may not provide the scoring Ant does but he provides everything else Ant doesn't. I'll take Josh over Ant any day of the week. Dude rocks.
You are assuming Simons had a problem with him saying it. I have never seen anything that would suggest that Hart's teammates have a problem with him. Teams need a guy like that.
no shit, he should be in Simons ear all game, every game - not berating him but teaching/encouraging. I think GPII has been doing this with SS, and it seems to be working
This is precisely where Payton is having his biggest impact. Sharpe’s defense have improved tremendously since Payton came back from injury
As far as I can tell, all the Nurk + Hart "trade rumors" are just repeating the same article that suggested they might be available. So they're not independent rumors, they're echoes of a guess.
I've read more about Hart and Nurk being pursued outside the Blazers media so I think it's got more weight to it than an S2 wish list guess. Nobody knows for sure what will happen until a minute before it's a done deal but the Blazers are sellers at the deadline from multiple sources.
https://www.actionnetwork.com/nba/n...and-sellers-fred-vanvleets-future-more-rumors OK Grant fans - are you happy that (according to this source) he's "untouchable"... but Shaedon Sharpe isn't? Also: I'll be pissed if the Blazers trade Josh Hart at all, but if they trade him for Jae fucking Crowder, I swear...
"I love Josh Hart, I love Josh Hart. When we first got together as a team we were playing pickup and doing things like that and he was super emotional. It was like we were in the playoffs, how much he cared about the pickup games, he kicked the ball and get mad and kick a chair over and stuff like that. And I’d be looking at him like, man, this dude kinda crazy. Just being on the floor with him through the preseason and through these first couple games, he’s a winning teammate, the way he plays the game, he plays hard, he’s physical, he does everything that you ask him to do. He’s got his teammate’s best interests. He communicates and just being on the floor with him, I love playing with him. Even though it’s early in the season, I love being his teammate and being on the floor with him, just with what he brings to our team and the way he plays. It makes it fun being on the floor with him." - Damian Lillard Hopefully we dump his ass.
NBA teams get better every time Hart leaves... the Lakers won 15 more games the year after he left and New Orleans crawled back into the playoffs after the Blazers got him. It might be coincidence, but no playoff appearances in five years doesn't really speak well to him contributing to winning basketball at this level. Basically: he's just a guy. If we can get any value for him, we should do so.
Or if he tells yu there is no way he will sign back with a team with two undersized guards who don't play much defense...
