Does VORP mean NOTHING to you?

    Also: what's VORP?

Plus I don't really consider one year of college ball in Seattle as "from the NW".
The dude grew up 3000 miles away.

Why would Grant agree to a sign-and-trade unless it’s to a team that’s got a real shot at a title?

There just aren't very many teams with the cap room to sign him. So if he found a team outside of the handful of teams with enough cap space, that wanted to give him the money he is asking for then a sign and trade would make sense. I don't think it matters because I bet Joe already has a handshake deal with Jerami that won't be the end of the world but also most of us will be unhappy with.

    True.
Grant was shooting great to start the year which makes his deficiencies a bit easier to tolerate, so hopefully he can shoot more consistently. The weak rebounding could improve I guess, maybe wouldn't be as much of an issue if he is paired with an actual power forward.

What really has bugged me lately is his tendency to force stuff, driving the ball into nothing etc. I'm pretty sure he re-signs here, it's not all bad, good help defender.......hopefully won't be too much of a hindsight albatross contract....

If we are keeping Jerami then we better have two big time rebounders in the front court with him and some off of the bench.

Grant is good as a 3rd option on offense. He actually has better handles than I thought before the season. But I agree he gets into trouble when he puts the ball on the floor like most forwards around 6'9". His 3 ball and mid-range jumper are pretty good though. But yeah, he is not worth what I think he wants.

Grant is like a rook in chess. If you have a good strategy and approach he's a great piece. If you don't know how to use him, he's not nearly as useful. When the Blazers had more ball movement and could use him as a driving/slashing guy, or as a guy on kickouts after some action elsewhere, or as a wing on the break, he's really solid.

It shouldn't be a surprise that as the Blazers offense has grown more stale due to injury and a total lack of creativity by Chauncey, that Jerami's game has suffered a bit. He's not a guy you want in a boring ISO-ball offense—that's Detroit Jerami!

    Bring back Blazers Jerami!

I have a feeling the target is towns this summer. Not sure how I feel about that, assuming it’s ant and picks.

If you did this you'd want to limit the number of picks you send out. Grant + Ant straight across for Siakam is okay but I'm not enriching Masai any more than that...

They wouldn't want Grant because that's the position that they are overstocked with. I think they would want Ant, Nurk and three or maybe even four first rounders and I think we would have to consider it. Siakam is not "okay" the dude is a legit all nba talent and a guy who works really hard. He facilitates offense too, so that would be great with Dame.

Instead of Siakim, let's trade Simons for Lauri Markkanen, who is 7'1", scores well, rebounds, blocks shots, plays defense, plays with energy, and is only paid $16.5M/yr. Lauri would be a great teammate for Dame and a difference maker to make the Blazers a contender.

I'll do you a favor since you keep posting this nonsense and no one cares to respond. For all of the reasons you just listed why in the fuck would the Jazz trade Markkanen? I don't think they would even if we threw some picks at them with Ant.

LM is untouchable. Ainge is building around him. Portland will have a hell of a time finding a legit all nba level player. I don't think TOR will unload PS now they have Poetl and are looking ok. FVV should start packing though. Portland will have to take a risk on KAT injury prone or an aging ex all nba type etc. Not getting a young superstar for Ant and Nurk and picks; have to just accept Grant will resign and be Blazerpaid.

Grant is at the level of a 3rd-4th option/role player, on a good team. One of those players that can carry a torch for a while. But because he's at that level, he can't consistently transcend the level of play of his team. If his team is playing well he's likely play well too. On the other hand, if his team is struggling, he'll likely struggle as well

Blazers have been struggling. Nurk and Ant have been out; Hart was traded. No direction; no identity; no answers from the coaching staff (the biggest concern). Grant has kind of been forced into a 2nd option role....that's not a good fit

He's fine. I don't think adding Siakam would take Portland to the promised land. I think that's what I mean by 'okay'.
