Blatant self promotion here. Here's where you can buy on Amazon: Here's the blurb from my recently built website (FamilyHour.org): Create a habit that gets you connecting as a family. It can happen nightly, every few days, or weekly. It doesn’t matter if the kids are 5 or 17, you can still make it fun for everyone. There’s a little trick that gets everyone involved: rotate the decision maker for the night’s entertainment based on their first initial. The family of four who wrote this book call it MELT (Mike, Esmé, Larry and Toby), but you’ll use your own family’s initials. This book also includes hundreds of ideas to keep your evenings lively. It includes starter lists of top board games, films and more, but the real magic comes in adding your own favorites. These become prompts for the night’s entertainment, ensuring you always have an answer for the announcement, “I can’t think of something to do.” Build stronger, deeper connections to your family in low-pressure, fun activities. Give it a try. You might be surprised how easy it is for everyone to find a little time for Family Hour. If you're interested in giving it a read in exchange for an honest review on Amazon, pm me your address and I'll get a copy shipped to you on my nickel.
Outstanding man. We’re 3 months away from being empty nesters, wish you had wrote this 20 years ago….HA! Congrats.
Congrats to you, dude! I'm still about 4 years away myself (unless they linger, which frankly seems likely given housing market here...)
I'll put your book on my library book request list...have grandkids so I'm back in the children's book chapter of empty nesters! A 6 month old and an almost 3 year old who loves books!
And @mook and @HCP - the secret to successful empty nesting is to become a cliche like my wife and I have: Get a dog and obsess over it. Ha!

Your book really caught my eye because family time is super important to me, but finding ways to make it happen regularly can be a challenge. Your approach sounds practical and enjoyable, and I'm eager to give it a try with my own family. I appreciate the offer for a review copy, and I'll definitely take you up on that! By the way, I've recently been diving into the Colleen Hoover series, and I'm completely hooked. Have you read any of her books? I'd love to chat more about it and maybe swap recommendations.
I just forwarded this to my sister who still has three who have yet to move out. She will probably pick it up.
