I’ll admit that I’m more into March Madness right now than I am the Blazers/NBA. That will probably change after it’s over.

I don't like tanking. Part of the game i guess but hate seeing it. Don't like supporting it.

I went to the game last night with my son. We split season tickets and go to about 20 games a year. The rest we watch on tv.

Even though this team has a terrible record, I still watch. I enjoy basketball and always root for the Blazers to win. I’m a fan.

Am I disappointed in how this season has turned out? Hell yeah. The Blazers have way too much talent to have the dismal record they do. No excuse. I blame the player, the coach, the GM, and the owner. (The only person I don’t blame is me!)

With all that said, I’m going to enjoy each and every game and root for them to win. And with every loss, I’m going to take solace that it moves the Blazers a bit closer to a higher draft pick that may pay dividends 2-3 years down the road.

I think the only way that pick takes that long to pay dividends is if we keep it but I think the only way we keep it is if it's number one or we're trading Dame... in both scenarios, then the pick plays automatically and therefore pays dividends (obviously I'm pretty damn high on Wemby and his ability make an immediate impact, especially if he's the third or fourth scoring option).

You've been harping on that for a while now. CJ's peak was probably 2-3 years ago, so what he's doing now has little bearing on what he could have done in that role then.

    LOL....c'mon man....really?

CJ is more than a year younger than Dame, and Dame is having his best season ever at 32...but CJ's "peak" was when he was 28?

I watch every game. I watched the Championship game. I want the team to win and be successful and earn another championship as much as anyone here. However, at this point in the season I'm not concerned about wins, which would be pointless. I'm just looking at all the individual players. And I criticize plenty when I see bad or missed plays. I love the game and I love the Blazers. Good teams come and go. My fandom tells me that we will be good again. In the meantime, there are more important things in life to me than whether people who are not me are winning games. And I will continue to watch. If any disaffected fans have free tickets to pass on, you can pass them on to me.

That’s what Blazer fans do every year, and what they’ve doing for an eternity. It’s like we’re reaching for a twinkling star that is forever out of our grasp.

Right, because everyone peaks at the same age. I see why you stick to statistical arguments...

Sucks for you and the other season ticket holders who have to watch 11 more losses.

Yeah right, stats don't do justice to the full CJ story; except when they do. That's kind of ridiculous, by the way, because try and justify CJ's supposed all-star status without using stats...But let's shift it to a logical argument if you prefer, or an illogical one to be more precise. Are you really going to make the argument that CJ "peaked" at 28? And if he'd only been a lead guard a couple of years ago he'd have been so much better than he was this season he'd have been an all-star? geeeeezuz

Only for the last two seasons. We'd made the playoffs the prior 8 seasons, so all of us were hoping that every game was a win at that point. No one was reaching for a draft pick that is like a twinkling star that is blah blah blah.

Lets not get too far out of context here. I know i support the team no matter what. I'm just not going to make watching a team lose on purpose a priority right now. Yes they are trying to lose on purpose and i think you realize that by now.
In the coming days you will watch the total transformation to not playing Lillard and most likely limiting minutes for Grant, Nurk and i would presume Simons as well.
Since the day Lillard was supposed to have said "The Time is NOW" they have lost 6 straight. Believe me I am not the only one that was right there with Lillard thinking "Yep if they are going to do it it's gotta be now".
There is 11 games left. If they go on an 11 game winning streak they end up 42-40 which might get them the #10 or even the #9 spot. I think you know that won't be happening this year.

I have recently adopted two children. A little boy who turns 3 next month and CPS decided that we were the best option for his sister who is now almost 18 months old. That little boy's name happens to be Johnny by the way. Hopefully he's as big of a Blazer fan as you and I some day. Yes i will be watching the games when i have time but I'm just a little more inclined to get my deck built in the coming weeks so i can enjoy the summer this year and when I'm watching those games that remain I'll most likely be paying more attention to the kids.

I keep my eye on the Blazers always. Just less inclined to make a tanking team my priority. Never play to lose has always been my thinking. Right now Chauncey is coaching a team to lose.

I’m pretty sure the time is now speech was right before the 71 point game win over Houston.

Also- I think an 11 game win streak would give us the 6th seed.

    Not at all.

Good players don't suddenly get worse when they're on a good team (or vice versa). There are, of course, some players that will produce better (or worse) on a team depending on how good it is, but it's not like an all-star gets traded to a good team and suddenly he sucks, or a bad player goes to a bad team and gets good.

Going back to the start of their careers: if you have a player that doesn't produce on a good team, or a team that DOES produce on a bad team, I would bet on the latter any day of the week.
