Stick-figure Butler's only value is for Nurk or Badji to pick him up, flip him over, and use him as a mop.

Who's the Jalen Williams of this draft? You know, not getting that much hype but just an all-round baller? I guess we'll find out when we see who Sam Presti drafts.

If you talking about who the most like Jalen Williams, it’s probably Jalen Hood-Schifino. But I don’t know too much about his game. But if you’re talking about who’s an underrated guy who can make an instant impact probably Hendricks. Maxwell Lewis is also intriguing, I’m getting Trey Murphy vibe from him

I want to see the Blazers draft someone who is ready to contribute. Seems like the last several years it is draft someone with high upside but who won't be able to truly contribute for several years.

Yah, Butler is not an NBA player... He may be able to eek out a year or two more in his career, but not much more.

Anyone think Brandon Miller would slide down to where we’re at with everything surrounding him?

I know a lot of people are going to shun the OTE’s competition, but I’ve been loving what I see from Ausar Thompson.

When I watch him right now, I see Cal Jaylen Brown. Ausar probably has a better handle at this stage than Brown did. He’s not a good shooter yet, but his 3 ball had gotten remarkably better as the season went on. I think he’s going to surprise some people with his shooting. He’s also going to be a plus defender sooner rather than later.

The idea of pairing Sharpe with another super athletic 3-D guy has me salivating.

The Bottom line is, with One & done'ers , most need too much development to really provide instant production that leads to winning right away. If the Blazers don't get the #1 pick to draft Wemby, the pick is going elsewhere to go after a Mikal Bridges or Siakam. But maybe with the plethora of 2nd rounders, the Blazers may pick one of these names being posted in here.

I like the idea of both Thompson brothers separately. I need to read more and see more on them, but they’re probably in Portland’s range. They’re not immediate help for Dame, but with Ant and Sharpe?

The Jaylen Brown comparison is tempting.

If Boston falls in the playoffs … Ant + (non #1 or 2) lottery pick in a package for Jaylen Brown.
If no BIG trade gets done early on this summer … Dame to Boston for Jaylen Brown + unprotected 1sts in a package.

    Dame, Sharpe/Thybulle, Brown, Grant
Ant, Sharpe/Thybulle, Brown, Grant (keep … or sign & trade for youth) PLUS the lottery pick this year!

I don’t think you’re getting Brown for Ant + picks. The only reason for them to give up Brown is for a home-run kind of player like KD or Dame.

Then Brown has only one year left on his deal. So unless he agrees to an extension after the trade, we’re left with either dealing him for multiple unprotected 1sts or going through the whole Grant situation again for another season.

Me personally, if we’re trading Dame, do the teardown and trade Brown to the Magic for one or both of their lotto picks this year + other assets and do a total rebuild around Ant and Sharpe.

Amen is probably the 3rd or 4th pick this year, so might be slightly out of reach if we’re around the 6th pick. Ausar will probably be guy in our range.

Amen probably has the higher ceiling because he’s been developing as the playmaker between the two and is slightly more athletic. But Ausar has a better handle and is the better shooter. I’ve read Ausar is also the better defender, but I haven’t watched enough film to confirm that. Their verticals should be in the 40”s, but Ausar has a slightly longer wingspan.

My worry about Amen is that he may turn into the classic primary ball handler without a jumpshot if the shooting never comes around. Ausar has been playing off the ball most of his life and would be a better fit on this roster, whether it be with Ant or Dame. So I would probably take Ausar even if they were both available.

I am an admitted Ant non-fan and as such, I want nothing to do with a rebuild wherein he is the centerpiece.

Streaky shooter, zero defense, not much of a passer, poor rebounder. What’s to like?

Sure, like every 17th game when he gets hot but overall, a sixth man sure but not a centerpiece.
