Well yes, the Blazers are so close to contending for a title all they need is Dale Davis to put them over the top. Great idea.

I’m feeling a little loopy myself. This was one of those thoughts that didn’t really need to be shared.

This would be closer to trading Kobe Bryant for Vlade Divac.

Kinda funny that if the Raptors didn't want another future 1st on top of Hart and #7, we'd have OG this season and Sharpe would be in Toronto. How many people would trade Sharpe for OG straight up right now?

IMO, if like Embiid or Giannis become available, you have to at least consider including Sharpe because you'd have to in order to make the offer good enough, but the list the Blazers should trade him for should be extremely short.

IMO Getting angry at something you are passionate about is what being a fan is. It’s also just as real as getting mad about something at work, or at a car that cuts you off, or a bar being out of Lagavulin

Ok I think we all love Sharpe but if those two guys (or Luka, Jokic, Tatum) become available and they want Sharpe than you don't 'consider' trading him, you do it in a heartbeat if that is the difference maker in the deal.

I've never included him in a single one of my many trade proposals. (hmmm. maybe that is why none of them came to fruition?)

I think you missed the point. Getting mad about trading Sharpe if that's actually in the Blazers' plans? Sure, that's what passionate fans do. Getting mad about even the possibility of trading Sharpe, when nobody is saying that's on the table? That's just wasted fan energy in my book.

I’m not creating a scenario. I’m imploring them to not trade him this summer as part of a package for some Star.

also I didn’t say anything about how I would feel in my original post. I said it would be a mistake if they trade him.

The list for Sharpe trades would be short based on what we've seen up to now. The man has all sorts of talent and potential to improve and prove he's alls star material but that has yet to be accomplished. It's great to get excited about it like most did with Ant exploding against Sac during that last game of the season. MJ said in an interview that we pay players now days for potential right out of hs/college. I say Sharpe should play in Vegas as that league is made for guys like him. Once he's consistent at dominating a game against playoff teams, like Dame has then he has arrived.
It takes more than show casing against mediocre teams, he's still a few years out in my mind from possibly being that player we all want.

So if the Blazers get the #1 overall pick you'd trade Simon's, Sharpe, Nurk, Little, Watford, #1 overall (Wemba), four future firsts unprotected, 3 unprotected pick swaps, all for Embiid?

I don't know Embiid Dame and attempted resigning Grant with a roster of scrubs could contend. Embiid and Dame have age and injury concerns long term. It would be a hell of a trio, but has a hell of a lot of risk.

We’re just reading different books is all. You are reading a non fiction book about the current Blazers, where as I am reading a non fiction book about the history of the Blazers and how they keep fucking up. Both great books, but different perspectives

It doesn't seem highly like that Sharpe gets traded, but there are certainly players you trade Sharpe for (if it's on the table). I know many fans like to make the young guys untradable, but if history were any indicator, it's more likely Sharpe will be the whipping boy of this board in 4-5 years whom "we should've traded while his value was highest".

Frankly, Tince's highest value just didn't seem worth the effort. ;)

Imho, it's highly unlikely that the Blazers will be able to make a trade for a player that will turn things around for the franchise, even one that includes them trading Sharpe. And yes I understand that it's not a guarantee that he'll be something big, but the trade scenarios people dream up seem to not be based in any kind of reality.

Would have to be someone like Luka to warrant a trade for Sharpe.

Supposedly Luka is not happy in Dallas.

Even if we got the number one and packaged with whoever on our team not named Dame, I'm not sure if Luka/Dame is a good fit.

Luka would only make sense if they were trading Dame (and I am not advocating that).
