    You're reading the interaction backwards.

    I think KOC is responding to Dame's support of Draymond (Dame's emoji was at a tweet about Draymond being suspended). I think Dame would be all for Draymond on the Blazers.

    The only way I’d be ok with Draymond joining the Blazers is if we had a real shot at a championship. Any chance we could land Pascal and Draymond?

    The only way I'd be okay with Draymond joining the Blazers is if they move to another city and I stop following them.

    With Dame pushing as hard as he is we might as well have already signed him.

    Whatever logic the Blazers used to sign Payton, they would have three times the motivation to acquire Green:
    • Veteran presence
    • From a winning culture
    • Defense-focused
    • Position flexibility
    Additionally, there are at least three additional positives:
    • Front court player
    • Buddies with Dame (I don't get the sense that was the case with Payton)
    • Has more than one season of success in the NBA
    So... I can totally see the Blazers going after Green this offseason.

    Of course, I think that would be a terrible move. He's expensive ($27m, albeit with only one more season; I could see the Blazers being dumb and giving him an extension, though, if they acquired him). He's old (33 years old). He's been injury-prone (although he played in lots of games this year). And he is worthless on anything but a very good team where he can be the third- or fourth-best player.

    I have seen speculation by talking heads that Golden State might try to move his contract this offseason, and Portland presumably would be a team that's interested. Then maybe look to trade Ant and our lottery pick for another starting-level guy. I can see how they could convince themselves this is "going for it".

    It would be a waste of time, money, and a lottery pick, so I hope I'm wrong both because it wouldn't work in building a contender, because it would subvert our future chances to be a contender, and because Draymond Green is an asshat and I won't ever root for him.

    After seeing Dame at the Nets-Sixers game I have a question, what realistic trade not including Bridges could they offer for Dame if he asked out and asked to go there?

    there's nothing, at all, that's realistic till at least December 15 (IIRC). And by realistic I mean anything that pays Portland enough

    W/O Bridges, there is nothing realistic. Just junk and bad contracts.

    I’d rather have Spencer Dinwiddie than Ben Simmons.

    it isn't just the Nets that have nothing good to offer for Dame

    how about the 76ers? All they'd have would be Tobias Harris and Tyrese Maxey. They couldn't offer a 1st round pick till 2029. Maxey is a good player, but he's not PG. He's a 6'2 SG that works with Philly because they have Harden. Maxey and Sharpe would be a really awkward pairing unless the Blazers had a point-forward

    in retrospect, try this Dame-->Nets trade

    in December, Dame for

    * Cam Johnson (re-signed for 20-25M/year)
    * Nic Claxton
    * Spenser Dinwiddie or Joe Harris
    * 2025 first round pick from Phoenix
    * 2027 first round pick from Phoenix
    * 2029 first round pick from Dallas

    that's about the best the Blazers can do from the Nets (say no to Simmons for gods sake)

    so then, here's what I see: a Blazer team that is either the back end of the lottery or the play-in. In other words a Blazer team that dumps Dame and doesn't get a good draft pick for years. Purgatory. A Blazer team that ends up at a point where it was pointless to trade Dame

    Im assuming that you think Dame can't be traded until December because of his contract extension?

    He signed it last July - so he should be trade eligible right now
    *** EDIT *** Sportac says theres a trade restriction until July 9,2023

    no...I'm thinking Cam Johnson, who is RFA this summer, needs to sign an extension first. He'd be the best player coming back; and while the return is really poor, IMO, Johnson would have to be part of it. So I'm thinking it would have to be Dec 15 before he could be traded but maybe it's 60 days after he signs
