Wow, 7th seed takes out a 2nd. That’s impressive regardless of who your favorite team is.

In the same year as an 8th seed takes out a #1 seed. This playoffs has been one to watch for sure. People might be hating the Warriors but that game 7 is going to be Lit!

I've seen them win enough for a lifetime. Good on them for making the second round, but I've seen this movie before.

It's going to be a classic. Hopefully, it's not a 40 point blow out.

Before trade deadline I bet 50$ on the Lakers to win it for a 3k return.

Now i can cash out for 250$. @THE HCP maybe you can help me (or others). I should wait a little no?

lower seeds knocking off higher seeds happen more than people remember. I happily remember a 3 over 1 seed:

    https://www.basketball-reference.co...onference-finals-trail-blazers-vs-lakers.html

and unhappily remember a 6 over 3 seed in 2018

the thing about the Lakers, besides the generic justified revulsion, is they won a championship when Lebron and AD were healthy and they had a decent supporting cast. Lebron and AD are older now, but they are still elite players and they are healthy. And the NBA found a way to get the Lakers a decent supporting cast at the trade deadline. Russell & Shroeder are a couple of decent guards who can run an offense and get hot sometimes. Hachimura had 3 incredibly hot games (which gave some posters here a loopy reason to bash Cronin for not getting him) before he regressed back to his well-established-below-average norms. Vanderbilt has some versatile defensive length that fit well. But more than anything else, Austin Reaves has been channeling Jerry West while taking the pressure off Lebron to always get the Lakers into sets

and it helped the Lakers a lot that Morant hurt his wrist and Adams was out. Memphis decided to shit the bed too. Yeah, some of that was Laker D but a lot of it was Memphis choking and throwing in the towel.

if you don't need the $50, why not let is ride a while longer? You just never know

at the same time, there's plenty of reason to suspect this new-found Laker playoff prowess is mirage

Never bet money I would need. Maybe hope for a game stolen in the next round and hope for a better value in the cah out

    Thanks for the input

You finished off your novel basically saying that bro. Better team won, move along. It’s OK to acknowledge that. It won’t tarnish your love for the pinwheel, by admitting other teams are getting shit done.

Steven Adams not playing didn’t help Memphis.
Adams is one of the best rebounders, offensive rebounders and the best screen-setter in the league.
Any team missing such a player is going to be affected.

Having love for the pinwheel means that under no condition do you celebrate anything the L*kers do.

Makes it easy right now since the entire NBA is a fucking joke lol.

So your basically getting 12-1 on the Lakers winning (3000/250). Fanduel lists odds at 10-1 so your getting a better deal than that by letting it ride.

Lakers are probably favored against GS/Sac. Then they only have to play one of Den/Phx but they'll likely be a slight underdog. Potential finals I'd think is closer to even.

They have to win 3 more series. If they're a coin flip in each one thats 8-1 odds. I'd probably think they're close to those odds, maybe a little worse as I'd pick Phoenix over them, although with LeBron maybe they're a bit better. I'd probably just ride with the bet unless you would be devasted or can't afford to miss out on the $250. Odds are the Lakers won't win the title and you'll lose this all; but the $3k return is so much better than the $250.

As you say also the potential of a better cash out opportunity is another benefit, again that would make me more likely to let it ride.

I'd ride it out for one more series. $250 is good money but it's not something I'd lose sleep over. $750+ I'd seriously consider it, but before that it's not terrible.

Not a single person on here was talking about the Clippers missing CP3 and Blake Griffin when we beat them in the 1st round years ago. So nobody is allowed to feel bad for the poor Grizz now.
