Gallant has his flaws but this failure is on Drury. A Jenner type or a Crouse type would have been much better acquisitions. Drury fucked up. Period. This team never committed to developing Kakko and Lafreniere. They said they were rebuilding and then after they had some success earlier than expected they basically just gave up the rebuild. This team needs another rebuild because they’re not near good enough. Panarin has to go. He’s the first piece. Kakko and Lafreniere have been ruined here. At this point they might as well see how many takers there are for them and who wants to unfuck what the Rangers did.

All season long you saw dumb penalties and turnovers by Panarin. All season long you saw stupid turnovers by Miller. All season long other than Trochek you saw a below average faceoff team. All season long you saw a team that would let up odd man rushes and put too much on their goaltender. All season long you saw a team that had little ability to win games when they didn’t score on their power-play. All season long you saw no physical play other than a couple players. A team like that is not built to win in the playoffs.

Just look at the losses in this series. Rangers don’t score on the pp, give up a goal being sloppy, lose the game. Predictable. Drury gets one more year. Then his ass should be fired if this team doesn’t have a lot more gamer types and some faceoff aces.

I'm not sure what to make of Miller. His point totals weren't bad but he was a disaster this year defensively. Schneider was a bit shaky too in the 2nd year but he'll be fine. At least he hits people. Othmann will be a good leader and future C I think.

They need to take a step back next year, get younger, cheaper and start to build a team identity. They don't have an identity other than being slow, non physical and not winning faceoffs. It needs to change or they will waste another franchise goalie. Panarin needs to be the first player sent out of town. If he has any pride, he will accept a trade when he is asked to waive his idiotic NMC. They will have to eat some of his salary but he can put a fringe team over the hump to making the playoffs. Detroit comes to mind. They need a talent at wing to help them get in the playoffs. They have lots of cap space.

The bottom line last night is that the Rangers were overwhelmed and rattled by a much faster team that came out playing with tons of confidence. Last night could've been an 8-0 loss.

Too many fat cats on the Rangers now. Gallant is a players coach. Not a good fit with high paid players 27 to 35. Getting Panarin out of here will be one of the most important moves this organization has had to make in a long, long, time. Detroit to me seems like the place. You may not have to take salary back if you take Copp back in the deal. I liked Copp from the time they got him last year. If they aren't going to give up on Kakko and Lafreniere, then they need to get rid of Panarin and give that icetime to one of those players. Especially on the PP.

I agree Igor is a beast. He will keep you from bottoming out and won’t be good enough to win more then a round tough middle spot to be too bad so sad

You are not realistic dude. You are a fake fan troll that predicts them to lose all the time, and miss this and miss that. On and on it is your fake fan troll thing. Pens finish ahead of them? Did they miss the playoffs? And that is just this year. You are worse than any of these other guys because they just pop on for their moment of glory after we lose. You live here trolling all year long, and kill the board with your constant negative BS, and trade everyone, and fire everyone 10 games into the job. You are a joke and that is that.

And isn't it funny how the fake fan predicts we'll lose over and over again, miss the playoffs, finish behind the Pens, and again that is just this year, he does it every year. He doesn't watch the games. And then when the Rangers do lose here he is with 75 posts early the next AM. Do you guys not see how ridiculous and fake he is - come on now.

Yes, it's ridiculous, but it is equally so when you keep bringing it up over and over and keeps hijacking the thread.

Wow - shocker refusing to call him out. I post twice, he has 25 posts, and I am hijacking the thread. That's a joke and even you know it. The guy comes on the morning after we lose pumping his chest post after post like he made some grand prediction. The guy picks them to lose every game and every year. Trade everyone, fire everyone. On and on. He is now in his glory because he got one right - although not really because it went 7 and he thought we had no shot at all and would get rolled in 5. And then you post at me for 2 posts.

Between the two of us, who hijacks threads and kills the board - again even you know the answer to that one 31.

You are true to form 31 - I will leave it at that.

Bottom line is changes need to be made. LAF played great last playoffs as did Chytil. They could have been much better in later rounds if the Rangers advanced. The top guns here fizzled out. Fox can take his 60 assists and fuck off with them. He’s another player that refuses to shoot the puck when he should. Too much finesse on this team and not enough board grinding. Kane did not engage in any board work , Kreider deflects pucks, that’s it. The whole team was out of synch - they couldn’t even complete passes through the neutral zone

Here's the thing, anyone knows Dump and his negativity, so we can all just scroll through his posts and move on. But when you keep bringing it up every....single....time then scrolling through his posts is no longer enough. Why don't you just do what others do and keep scrolling instead of reading and calling him out every 10 minutes? Is not any less childish than his negativity.

The refusal to shoot the puck was a problem all year. Always looking for the extra pass. Taking shots and getting in front for rebounds wasn't something they were willing to do.

Agreed - and yes players will be who they are, but at what point does the coach take some responsibility for it as well? The fancy a** over pass BS? The East West crap. At some point he has to say shoot Adam or you are benched. Shoot Pan or you are benched.

And when your team plays with little to no passion or fire in 3 of the final 4 games of a playoff series, how do you bring that coach back? I struggle to see that.

Again, not all Gallant's fault, but someone has to be held accountable, and you cannot fire all the players.

With all due respect Jacob, watch games 4, 5, and 7 and tell me this - no way you can:

“I don’t think anybody quit on our team. I don’t think there was a lack of will or determination. I thought we fought until the end, give them credit, they played a good game.”

    — Jacob Trouba
