Nah... did you watch the game? The Warriors were allergic to the paint and the Lakers were addicted to it. It was not a one sided game called by the refs. If anything they let the Warriors get away with some stuff due to the constant contact that the Lakers were getting and the lack of drives from the Warriors.

 

it was extreme, but in the regular season, the Lakers were 1st in the NBA in FTA...and the Warriors were 30th. So an imbalance was to be expected

They clearly weren’t challenging Anthony Davis in the paint.

for those wondering about the FT discrepancy, do the shot charts shed any light?

 

Warriors and Lakers home court don’t matter. This will go seven games

 

Yeah and it doesn’t even show how a bunch of those shots were Nurk-soft floater type shots because they refused to challenge AD at the rim, at all.

 

Steve Kerr goes zone about 2 minutes earlier and the Warriors win that game. Lakers can’t play Vanderbilt in a zone and Vanderbilt was doing a good job on Steph.

Anthony Davis playing 43 minutes a game is simply not sustainable. He played the entire 2nd half and was absolutely gassed in the 4th. But if AD sat any minutes in the 2nd half, the Lakers probably lose the game. They needed every single minute from him.

 

You know what's sad, I was enjoying this fantastic NBA playoff game and said to my self that somebody on here was going to have the nerve to complain about the FT discrepancy....but not mention the horrible shot selection by the team who did't get a many FTs. You live and die by the outside shot. SIGH

Or the league has a conspiracy against the WARRIORS like this guy is claiming.

 

Not bad for a league down spiraling. Can't wait for game two.

 

I wonder how many other games in NBA history have featured a +15 3ptfgm discrepancy one way and a +20 ftm discrepancy the other way—regardless of the result.

 

I think I have to feel good about my bet. Patiently waiting now. Do you still like the Lakers chances in this particular serie I guess

 

I get that. If I saw the boxscore and not the actual action, I'd probably have the same reaction. The Warriors just decided to settle for jumpers because AD was so dominant around the hoop and the Lakers chose going to the hoop. The box score or maybe the shot chart will corroborate that account of the game.
