The guy made zero changes until game 6, and it was too late. And in game 7 just kind of sat around. They say he is not an X's and O's guy, or a motivational guy...you don't say...LOL.

Crazy stat I saw tweeted out. In the Devils playoffs wins they have outscored their opponents 21-6. In their playoff loses they have been outscored 32-7.

The damning part is not that the Canes are beating the Devs, the Canes are a good team so no shock there, it's how they are doing it. We made Schmid look like Hasek, and barely tested him, if at all. The Canes have made him look like the minor leaguer he was, and chased him twice.

That's the embarrassing part - we didn't even test the kid at all really, because of our soft and lazy play. Schmid has no business playing at that high level this time of the season, and we gave him a total pass.

What a joke, and sad, and this round puts a double stamp on that.

Lindy didn't have to do anything motivational to get his team up to play the Rangers, they will probably go home content just to have won the series.

They blew 2-0 leads two years in a row because instead of going to the net and shooting the puck Gallant had them playing some outside game. Taking long shots while always hoping for deflections. It was moronic.

Agreed - although I think I'd tweak the Gallant had them playing some outside game comment a bit. It is a combo of Gallant, his lack of structure, and lack of holding players accountable AND the fact that these fat cat "stars" are soft and don't always play hard. It is a two way street, and all involved deserve to be questioned.

The tv advertising during the game is interesting. They project different ads onto the ice and boards for tv purposes that are different that what is physically on them.

The networks can then keep changing them throughout the game.

They do, but i have to imagine those that paid to advertise on the boards would be pissed, because they want those on tv to see their advertising, not just those at the game.

Leafs next, though Florida-Carolina isn’t quite the ECF matchup the NHL was hoping for.

The Devils had a good regular season but were mostly abysmal in the playoffs. The Rangers shouldn't of lost to that team.

Have to give the Canes credit, I didn't think they'd make it to the ECF with all their injuries, and they did, good for them. I also think they were very lucky to get NJ instead of the Rangers in round 2, but that's how it goes. Reasonable shot to make the SCF.

And let's be real, there is zero excuse for the Rangers not to be in the ECF again. Sure that's a homer and bias take. but man for man, no doubt we are better than both NJ and the Canes, and much better in goal, but our fat cat, highly paid, stars couldn't bother to show up and do what it takes to win in the playoffs. What a disgrace every time I think about it.

Ask yourself this, other than Kreider and every once in a blue moon Kakko, who goes in front of the net and takes the punishment you need to in order to score and win in the playoffs...no one. Fat cat stars cannot be bothered. Rather skate East West circles on the perimeter. Joke.

I bet my money the devils will have a letdown year and be a playoff bubble team again next season.

Leaning towards Oilers winning tonight, and getting two game 7's out West. And we all know anything can happen in game 7's, so to me the WCF can legitimately end up with any matchup without surprise. I may lean slightly Stars and even more slightly Vegas, but flip some coins and see where they land.

One thing that angers me though is why 10 PM for the game tonight? Game in Seattle last night was 7 PM. On a Sunday night did they really have to make the game tonight in Edmonton at 10? Worst case go with 8, but that is a bad decision, and no way I stay up past the 1st period now. Shame.
