So he basically trashes the Knicks roster (outside of Brunson) and then acts like the Blazers would be giddy about taking back said trash? And so then you have Brunson, who is undersized, and Damian, who is undersized, and Hart, who is undersized...and that gets them what?
I hate when the talking heads say this stuff, like it's just gonna happen because the Knicks want Dame. It's as if west coast teams have no choice in the matter if an east coast team wants him. Just shows the lack of respect Portland always gets.
No one ever said he was smart. I love when some short dude who couldn't beat an 8th grader at basketball trashes one of the 300 best basketball players on the planet. No self-awareness at all.
Do the Knicks have all their own picks starting in 2024? If we could get 2024 2026 2028 2030 picks all unprotected plus unprotected swaps in 2025 2027 2029 with irrelevant contracts I'd seriously consider that it it ever came to the point of exploring Dame trades.
Such self-entitlement. Just like Lakers' fans. Any fan with a brain knows the Knicks' season was a great success. When was the last time they got to the second round?
It looked too forced to me. I could not tell how serious he was. I will say the Knicks do have a ton of picks (theirs and others) and a couple of contracts that they could use for matching salaries. (Fournier and Rose) But I agree that the 6'1" Brunson and Dame do not seem like a good match in the backcourt. If they are going to swing for the fences for a star they need to look elsewhere. .
Definitely a success. That said, I'm not sure that the second round isn't their ceiling with this roster. This team is right for an all-in move... though with brunson there Dame doesn't make much sense.
Each and every offseason and around the trade deadline too, rumors have Portland and other smaller market teams sending out their best for pennies on the dollar to LA and NY. Those are just easy stokings of those huge fanbases by the media trying to get clicks/subscriptions/eyeballs on their product. It's not a lack of respect, it's just business... expect it to continue STOMP
Can you imagine the shit storm that would happen if Portland or Charlotte got the #1 pick? Probably more so if Portland got it, since Charlotte does have UNC close by and are partly owned by Jordan.
They are still living in the past. The reason the Yankees and the Celtics have so many banners is because of that exact scenario. Smaller market teams back in the day were essentially forced to sell their best players to stay solvent. It started with Ruth.
