What are you hoping for with this pick?

  1. Draft Scoot and keep him

    27.6%
  2. Draft Miller and keep him

    28.6%
  3. Draft someone else at 3 and keep him (please specify)

    3.1%
  4. Trade down, but still draft in the lottery

    10.2%
  5. Trade the pick for a starting forward

    30.6%

You’re free to do so. I was ready to refute a Isaac Okoro comparison but I can’t find any official combine measurements for him. I see his height around the draft as 6’6, but not sure if that’s in shoes or barefoot—but he looks small in the NBA. Maybe we’ll have to see him side by side, but he looks considerably bigger and can pass the ball. As long as he can get stronger, he will be considerably better driving to the basket than Okoro.

I don’t agree with the MCW comparison at all, but I can understand the concern and see the where you are drawing the similarities. MCW didn’t nearly have the athleticism or frame of Amen, nor did he actually pass the ball well or actually defend. MCW was in a PG frame and maybe 2 inches taller. Amen is a legit SF sized player who can play PG.

I see the Dyson Daniels comparisons, which I can see as fair considering Daniels is only going into year 2. I’m a Dyson fan though, so maybe I see that comparison as a positive while you see it as a negative. What I will say to this is Amen has flashed much more playmaking upside and is more athletic. So I have more hopes Amen will be a star.

Ausar sounds more mature than at least 50% of the players already in the league.

Sure would be shitty to take the wrong twin then watch the other one dominate for a decade.

Yeah they sort of remind me of Sharpe last year in that they have incredible skills and potential but such huge question marks and lack of quality competition. Wouldn't be shocked if their All-stars or out of the league in a few years.

Trade Ant with a future first for another lottery pick and draft both?

    Amen
    Ausar
    Sharpe

Would be super fun to watch, if they all hit their potential. Can't imagine how fun those fast breaks could be. Haven't seen that since Drexler and Kersey were throwing it down.

If the twins both flop then yeah we're probably screwed for the next decade.

Shaedon was one of the youngest players in every level of competition that he played in. He also was recruited as the #1 player in his HS class after reclassifying to play a year above. Thompson was a 4 star recruit who played against comptetion as young as 16 while being 3-4 yrs older. He was #22 in his class.

Correct, I didn't say it was the same skills. The twins are both much better passers and defenders. But it's very hard to evaluate any of them with so little quality competition.

this remains MY GUY in this draft if we insist on using the pick. Trade down and pick up some assets on the way and lock him into the Sharpe rookie year role and let him loose in year 2. Unless a legitimate star is available in trade, this is my choice of what we do.

Checks every single box for a high level prospect and is getting super underrated these days.

I still don't feel Whitmore. He clearly seems like a step down from the talent that we could draft. I know people have explained to me that he is not Cam Reddish, but I still kind of see it as a floor. As a ceiling, I just kind of see big Gary Trent Jr.

That age difference is such a big deal. A player like Brandon Miller is playing almost exclusively against older guys (let alone someone like Scoop) while the Thompson twins were amongst the oldest in their league.

It doesn't mean that they can't be better than those who played against older guys at a higher level of competition, but personally it's a pretty big red flag that they couldn't be more dominant (shooting the ball, etc.) than they were.

Whitmore is 2 years younger than the Thompson twins and plays against better competition. He profiles to me like a more explosive OG Anunoby.
