?

What are you hoping for with this pick?

  1. Draft Scoot and keep him

    27.6%
  2. Draft Miller and keep him

    28.6%
  3. Draft someone else at 3 and keep him (please specify)

    3.1%
  4. Trade down, but still draft in the lottery

    10.2%
  5. Trade the pick for a starting forward

    30.6%

Yeah I watched a bit of him with CJ and Zion. He often looked to be clearly the best player on the Pelicans. That was a team that was at the top of the standing a large portion of the season. I think you have to pull the trigger if your the Blazers. Now if there is something chronic with his injuries then no, but assuming he's just had minor ailments that aren't long term concerns I'd snag him. I think the Pelicans and the Lakers when he was drafted there also had a lot of years in the lottery so the end of the season he might have sat out some games for tanking, I'm not sure.

The two years until free agency definitely needs to be something the Blazers/Dame are comfortable with. This actually could make the scenario a very tricky situation, as I don't think Dame will try to befriend CJ's star teammate unless the Pelicans have firmly pulled the plug on contending.

    Don't trade for KAT

He's fat & outta shape and might hate being the only Center in Portland.

I just rewatched Shaedon's tank Blazers beating the Timberwolves, (which contributed to the Rudy vs SlowMo scuffle & McDaniels losing a fist fight to a wall the very next night)

anyways.. Kevin Knox ran KAT outta the building.

I don't think Portland should relieve Minnesota of a huge pulsating crappy contract, just to pretend like the Blazers are building a contender with Lillard.

We were hoping for this scenario.......but with a team that actually has a player we want in return.

Exactly. Chicago can piss up a rope. They have nothing in the ballpark of the 3rd pick.

DeRozen and our pick back are probably their two best assets, and yeah those aren't worth much.

Possibly a 3-way? Maybe a team who values LaVine?
    Lavine to Toronto or Boston?

People seem to think that we are just gonna dump the third pick for nothing.

    It's silly.

oh for chrissakes, whoever that clown was in that Bulls video doesn't know jack. Cranium-meet-colon. As if the Bulls have anything valuable enough to land the 3rd pick. The Bulls don't even have a 1st round pick till 2029.

yes, and it starts with significantly overestimating Portland's willingness to trade the pick. I think the Blazers are, but just for a very small list of players; and Portland will not be willing to add much else to the cost

You think Scoot would destroy Dame in a 1:1 game today?

Dame would just stand 15 feet away from him and dare him to shoot

The talking heads are all running with the "trade Dame" storyline again.

Of course, they bring up the Knicks.

I just can't see a trade that I like from NY. They're not a very talented team overall, and frankly I don't see how Dame would really take them to the next level.

yep, and from what I've seen in the videos of Scoot, Dame might have a better chance of staying in front of Scoot's dribble drives than Scoot would with Dame's dribble drives. And if they called fouls and shot foul shots, Dame would feast

Maybe for some of the players/picks they traded away to "Win Now." Lauri Markannen , Wendell Carter Jr, the pick that became Franz Wagner, the 11th pick in the 2023 draft, their top-10 protected 2025 pick.

IF we trade Dame I’d want young Bigs back to pair with Sharpe/Ant/#3.

Windhorst says there are very unusually four top10 picks available in trades, likely #3 Blazers #4 Rockets #5 Pistons and more.

Most years the #3 would be worth a ton, but if #4/5 are available too it might be harder for the Blazers to extract maximum value in trades. But the #3 pick has often returned hall of fame level players.

Says many eyes in the league are on Portland with the high pick and Lillard pressure to get vets.
