I'm gonna go on record again: I love Scoot. I hope the Blazers get a chance to take him and do the obvious thing of snapping him up.
I have a deep feeling that if we can get Scoot and decide to pass on him or trade the pick we we regret it for years to come.
They say money doesn’t grow on trees, but 6’3 guards do. No. To. Scoot. Seems like a good kid and all, but no.
And honestly I don’t see how Dame would still be on the roster if we got Scoot. I think that would be the end and we would build around Scoot and Shae.
We are not winning a ring soon unless we get Giannis or maybe Embiid. Danny Ainge would have traded Dame for 10 first rounders, the number 3 pick to move up and take Scoot
probably like how Olshey "tried" to acquire PG13 with Meyers and Harkless, or Butler with Turner and Aminu
This is how: Because the Blazer bench was the biggest reason the team struggled. Fix the bench with Scoot and Sharpe and some better bench players, the Blazers are in the playoffs.
Ant has to go dude. Especially if we drafted Scoot. There’s no way we would go into next season with Dame, Ant, Scoot, and Sharpe.
Hard to see Scoot not turning out decent at least. Not many players that love basketball in the wall Scoot obviously does. Will probably take a few years though.... Wish he was 6-7.
What I mean is that they were probably looking at Ariza + Ant + 1st (or 2, I'm not sure), which Olshey did not do. He then turned around, traded Ariza and 2 1sts for RoCo that summer. Still the wrong deal, but I don't think we had a chance at getting Gordon during the following trade deadline.
100%. He has that hunger of young LeBron, along with his basketball junkie mindset, and yoked out beyond his years body. The height is definitely the biggest difference.
it would have had to have been Bazemore at the trade deadline, and Ariza in the off-season. IIRC, Ariza was a deadline day trade what I remember was rumors Orlando might be interested in CJ for Gordon +, and of course, there's no way Olshey would have trade CJ
