I haven't been around a few days so I'm gonna try and get the news caught up for those who missed it. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2914874The Detroit Lions haven't had a winning record since 2000 and haven't won 10 games since 1995. That's all going to change in 2007, according to quarterback Jon Kitna.Appearing on WDFN-AM in Detroit on Thursday, Kitna predicted that the Lions will win more than 10 games this season. The Lions were 3-13 in 2006.In March, Kitna said the Lions would win 10 games in 2007, but after seeing the team's schedule he adjusted his prediction -- higher."I'll keep to myself what I think we actually will win. But it's more than 10 games," Kitna said.Part of the reason for Kitna's optimism is Calvin Johnson, the team's first-round draft pick."I don't like putting a lot of pressure on people, but Calvin Johnson, to me, will have about the same impact that Reggie Bush had in New Orleans," Kitna said. "He's everything that they said he was and more."</div>I think he's smoking something good. But they're defense still sucks, I'm not convinced Tatum Bell is good enough to be an every down back (Especially Outside of Denver) assuming Kevin Jones isn't ready, their Offensive Line is still bad, and even if Calvin Johnson does have a huge rookie season, I don't think it's enough to overcome those 3 big weaknesses.

Kitna, get off your own dick... sounds like he thinks the lions are hot shit because they killed Dallas at the end of the year...

Jones is supposed to be 100% for opening day this season. Why would having Calvin Johnson have a big season impact our already thriving passing game. Sure, it'd be nice to have triple threat WR's, but Furrey caught 98 (he definitley won't hit 90 again) and of course Roy Williams. Kitna passed for over 4,000 yards, which is his career high. I don't care about the line because it's going to have the same impact it did last year, almost nothing. The line didn't get worse, but it didn't improve. I'm more worried about the defense holding up, because if our offense can generate points off what we accomplished last year, it could easily work. A QB throwing for 4,000 yards and a RB as dominant as KJ was becoming last year would be an insane offense. I wish we would have traded Bell for some sort of defensive player, preferably line, but Millen still is retarded.

If that's changed then you can ignore my point about their Runningbacks. The Offensive Line didn't have much of an impact last year? Are you kidding me? Jon Kitna was sacked 63 times last season, or about 3 times as much as it should be over the course of a regular season. They Finished Bottom 10 in Rushing Yards Per Attempt, which was heavily due to their lack of an Offensive Line (Hence the reason why Kevin Jones averaged a poor 3.8 YPA last year). Their Offensive Line is a major problem, almost as big as their Defense is.

I meant they didn't have a positive impact. Kevin Jones only did poor because of the beginning of the year. When he started warming into the game a little more as the season progressed, he seemed a lot better. Then came the injury and he tried to play on that, not smart. But yes they had said that KJ was supposed to be back and healthy for the start of the regular season. I thought otherwise even though it was reported, and to be honest, I don't want him to start if it will be a problem to him.

Someone should ask him over the span of how many seasons will it take for them to win 10 games.

You should worry about your own team. We all know the Lions won't win 10, it's no surprise. Let the idiot have his morale up for a few days.

It's possible the Lions win 10. Though, as much as the NFCN has improved, it'll be interesting to see. </p>

I am no big fan of Stanton & Orlovsky IMO is a better solution for the future. </p>

It's not the craziest thing I've heard, but there is easily the offensive potential to explode over there. Reminds me of the Rams when Trent went down, but the Lions D seems like they're still lacking.

you cant be the surprise of the year because your defense is simply horrific not to mention you have young unproven guys who are your weapons in that explosive offense we all keep hearing about. i got the lions going 6-10 a little bit of improvement on last years waste of a season.

dapackers your purpose mispelling of stanton's name is probably gut wrenching hillarious to you, but honestly its not making anyone else on here laugh. the only thing thats funny will the fight between the pack and lions for the 2nd to last spot in our division! enjoy your nice 1-6 start to the season and quite possible 2-14 full season record woo!

Is it me, or does Dabears need to worry less about Detroit and Green Bay, and worry more about Rex Grossman?</p>
