Big Hoff will play in Spartek St. Petersburg this season on a one-year contract reportedly worth 800k, bringing his career earnings into the $7.5M range.

Spartek is AK47's former team, according to the article. It will afford Hoff the playing time he needs and opens up a roster spot for the competing Jazz.

I knew he wouldn't be able to make a NBA team when his contract expired...

And we pick him 8th overall....Terrible.

Well, Luke was the 10th and Hump was the 14th, and we got both of them for Hoff and nothing, so it's almost like we traded 8 for 10 and 14... in a way.

At least we didn't take Pavel.

True, but having him might've kept us on the cusp of the playoffs, meaning no Charlie V=no TJ Ford, and no Bargnani.

    Tough sell.

Ive always had this thought in my mind that Rob Babcock is the crappiest GM ever born. People credit him for picking Bosh, but if he picked Wade instead of Bosh when Carter was still here, i would have literally shot myself. This guy is the worst at trades, rebuilding a team, making a team better, drafting players, and does not have the basketball mind Bryan does. Hoffa was such a terrible decision. How many 8th picks dont even make it in the NBA 2 years after they are drafted?

Hoffa isn't that bad of a player. Definately not 8th material but the guy had hustle. I never got why he made the most random noises when calling for the ball.

Looks like one year there and he will try to make his way back.
