Tyson. Both who are/were talented beyond a doubt, going to jail. They are different crimes, but what would happen to them after getting out/or since being released.

For all of Tyson's accomplishments he is now the butt of jokes. Where do you see Vick in a few years (after his releases)?

Vick will still be a top NFL QB, he has a powerful arm, but the thing is - it's not that accurate, and that's why the Atlanta Falcons score most of their touchdowns off of Vick's rushing yards to the end zone. Much better rushing than throwing at the QB position, but his powerful arm requires to play the QB position. Despite his horrible crime, Vick still have confidence in himself to be back and at it again. Mike Tyson, after his retirement, became deppressed, and simply a failure, as far as his personal life goes. He has been seen possessing drugs, on suspicion of DUI, and as well as rape charges. No doubt he is one of the greatest boxers to ever live, but outside of the ring, he lives a sad life, and he even thinks as himself a failure...

QUOTE

On the front page of USA Today on June 3, 2005, Tyson was quoted as saying: "My whole life has been a waste - I've been a failure." He continued: "I just want to escape. I'm really embarrassed with myself and my life. I want to be a missionary. I think I could do that while keeping my dignity without letting people know they chased me out of the country. I want to get this part of my life over as soon as possible. In this country nothing good is going to come of me. People put me so high; I wanted to tear that image down."

It's sad the way you have framed Tyson. I think he's one of the most dominate athletes in sports ever. Such as, as good as Bonds is, is he that much better than the 2nd teir of baseball players? Or was MJ that much better than the Barkley's, Drexlers, Hakeems... as Tyson was in boxing? I was younger then but I remember Tyson beating guys who had never lost easily within the 1st round(s), or early rounds. It was pure dominance.

At worst he is certainly the most dominate athlete I have ever seen in sports.

Vick'll still be good...he won't ever reach franchise status if he's out more than a year or so, if he's lucky he can pull off what Trent Dilfer did, beingthe number onestopgapQBand maybe wind up on a veteran team managing them to a title. Quarterbacks typically have a nice window, and since in the two or so years he'll be gone he won't be taking punishment on his body (no jokes), he should be able to redeem himself somewhat.

Then again, People seem to forget though that this was a crossroads type of year for him before any of this mess. Atlanta wasn't comepletely set on him, he stillhad stuff to prove as a franchise guy. This isn't Peyton Manning where you know what you're getting, this guy was still learning major parts of thegame last year.

Petey i think that u missed the part where Zards said that no doubt hes one of the greatest boxers to ever live... the point he is trying to make is that Tyson made a ton of mistakes in his personal life that i think we are all pretty sure Vick wont do... Vick will be back in a few years tho we dont know how long the NFL is gonna suspend him after jail time. If he is allowed to go back he'll be back

I think I should had worded my comment better. I didn't mean his depiction of Tyson was wrong/sad... but I'm sad looking at how skilled he was and what his life had become.

And Tyson I think is a bit overrated. Whenever I ask who the best person he beat was and get a long pause, if I even get an answer, the point is made.

    Thank you.

Mike Tyson truly displayed pure dominance in the ring, but what I was trying to get at there was that Vick will never end up like Tyson did, outside of the ring. Vick will bounce back, he'll still be a top QB in the NFL. He's only what... 27? He's got a lot of years left in him to still redeem himself from that terrible crime. The difference between him and Tyson is that Tyson never gathered his life together after all of his convicted crimes, and while Vick has only been convicted with one crime in his NFL career. Compared to most sports athletes, Vick isn't anywhere near Tyson, at all. There are better candidates that could take Vick's place in this thread, in my opinion.

I agree with Zards. Tyson is both a much more accomplished athlete and a much more accomplished criminal than Vick.
