Barlow vs Hearst

    It doesn't look good for Hearst in 2004. Between his injury issues and age, Barlow is looking like the clear favorite to be the 'guy' in San Fran.

    The one thing I don't know and hopefully someone can shed some light on this, is Barlow a UFA next season or even a RFA? If he is, will they let him go and keep Hearst as their main guy? Could they survive using Terry Jackson & Jamal Robertson as the backups?

    Barlow is a RFA I believe. Dallas tried to trade for him in the last few days before the deadline, and SF was not interested in trading him. It could be that Dallas was not offering enough, but I would guess that he is probably more in their long term plans than Hearst is.

    I was wondering if Mariucci had any interest in going after him. I thought he'd be a beast in Detroit for his old coach.
