QUOTE

According to league officials, Toronto’s new season ticket sales put it among the top five in the 30-team league and its 98 per cent renewal rate is the best in the NBA. The Raptors also sold more than 20,000 group tickets the first day they were available, said Anselmi, and are headed toward the kind of ticket-selling season they enjoyed in 2001-02, when they sold out 40 of 41 regular-season home dates. “There’s something about that team that’s fun,” O’Neil said of the Raptors. “What the fans see is a tremendous team that’s fun to watch and they’re flocking to it.” MetroNews

Nice news for the Raptors.

-Petey

A winning team in that market could make a ton of money and and should sell out most if not all their home games. Toronto is the 5th largest NBA market, with nearly 6 million people.

theres 12 million people in Ontario alone....if they are winning and they play exciting basketball, they should draw there....not to mention they are the only team in the NBA that gets to rep its own nation....

It's not as if people from all over Ontario attend games, they may watch them on TV but you ain't driving in for a game from the Sault (I guess you could but it'd take a couple of days).

Damn, that means less seats for us poor folk...

Good news for the Raps' business office but this new surge in interest would probably result in a rise in ticket prices.

I've pretty much chosen RapsTV over going to games the last few years. I usually have tickets given to me two or three times a year though.

I think as a joining gift to S2, you should take me to a Raptor game. Lol.

Hey S2 is the gift, if anything you're taking me. Or we can both just hang out near the doors of the ACC hoping the someone drops a ticket.

Iv had a stranger gift me a ticket to me and my friend, we were waiting in line to purchase tickets to the game against Boston and then some stranger comes up to us and offers us 2 free tickets saying he bought 40 tickets and 38 people showed up so they have 2 extras. I was in shock, after thanking him all the time I went to my seat....they were upperbowl but decent seats as it was row 7 and in the middle.
