Its hard to know the true story. There is a difference between "We would prefer you not draft Eli" and "We will sit out 2004 if you draft Eli".

That's a good point too. I will say this, if the Chargers do draft him, he will play for them. The Mannings are serious football people. I would be it's the first of the 2 Cowboy.

I'm sure the explanation will be that T.O. deserves to choose where he wants to go because he's a veteran. Get a better agent and you can go where you want.

Im sure that the Chargers are trying thier best to win....31 Teams have been trying to win for years(with the Bengals being the exception and that seems to be over now)....I found 2 quotes from Archie Asshole:

1."This is a bold move on the part of our family," Archie said. "But I am not bold enough to try to manipulate this draft. I would not do that.

Then what the fuck are you trying to do?

2."I don't want the Chargers to be exposed in a negative way,"

    A bit late aint it?

Yeah, it's not like as fans we don't see that the Chargers suck and have nothing except LT2 in an attempt to improve. They've been exposed since Humphreys sucked in the '94 Super Bowl.

I think the Chargers have the potential to improve quickly with a few breaks....Consider they have LT already, the leagues best back in my opinion....If Eli came in a played well over the next few years, they could become a contender rapidly....Its a shame that this is happening...They should trade the pick for as much as they can get and move down a few spots and take Rivers whom they also covet....at this point, I wouldnt be suprised if he turns into the best pro in this QB class...
