I think it just means he's out for longer than they originally thought. This is nothing that can't be taken care of. Larry Bird had the same thing, and they were able to find a good mix of drugs to help him out. The Pistons had an extra roster spot, so they may as well use it, especially since it only costs them $250,000. Manning is definitely not a long-term answer, so I don't see it as a sign that Zelly is done for. By the way, welcome to the site. Great to see another Pistons fan. I think they signed Manning so he can make Tayshuan a better player. The pistons are doing fine without Zelly.
Tayshaun has looked good in the limited time he's gotten. I think it's just a matter of confidence. He has a great 3-point shot, he just has to feel confident enough to take it. Also, his defense has been great, with his long arms. At least he's better than Rodney White so far.
No doubt. They have the same body type, except Manning is a little taller, but Tayshaun makes up for it with his wingspan. I'd like to see Tayshaun get increased minutes as the season goes on. He could really be an energy boost in the playoffs.
