...or did Favre and the rest of the Lambeau crew make him appear smarter than he really was. I think he will get Seattle there eventually.
Alexander seems to me like he can be a gamebreaker at times, but he dissappears sometimes too. I think he is a little streaky and over-rated. My prediction for Seattle this season is 10-6. (9-7 if not for overall weakness in NFC)

I think Holmgren was a little bit overrated, but then again he's finally turning Seattle around so maybe not. Seattle should dominate one of the weakest divisions in football. Only St. Louis should challenge them for the top spot.

The only scary thing for Seattle is that Hasselbeck and Alexander's contracts are both up after this season... Shawn could be a FA after this season.

alexander is a bit streaky but when he is on his game hes a great player to have... the 2 QBs are pretty good, i think that they are a bit over rated, not holmgren, i think that last year they got a little lucky. id like to see them again, its gonna be a fun season next year(as it always is)

I don't know if anyone saw the list of top coaches in the league... but I was disappointed to see Holmgren there and not Cowher. Holmgren has struggled to make Seattle a powerhouse. I'm sure I'm being biased but going into your 13th season with the same team is impressive.

i agree with you... cowher has had the same team for 13 seasons... no coach today has done that... holmgren is a good coach...ill give him that much but there is no one like bill cowher.

Some might argue that Cowher's tenure is a bad thing, but I disagree. I was getting frustrated with some of the Coordinators, but he has a new staff and an old friend, Lebeau, returning. Should be a good year. I think the he takes the Steelers back to the playoffs...

I think maybe Holmgren was a little overrated in GB, but he is still a good coach. Part of being a good coach is surrounding yourself with good talent....assistant coaching talent, that is. When you move to a new location, you don't always have the luxury to bring in your kind of people.

Look at the assistant coaching staff that Bill Walsh had. Now it looks like an all-star cast, but Walsh got a lot of the credit. He deserved it, but some of it for the wrong reasons.

Look at my team. Sure, Parcells is a great coach, but over the years, it doesn't hurt to hire Belichek as your defensive coordinator either [IMG]

Two other factors can hinder a good coach's success: Salary cap and timing.

For what its worth, I would welcome Cowher to coach my team too. Top notch guy and coach.

I'm not going to disagree. I think Holmgren has done some great things. He's a borderline genius as a head coach, but he has yet to really pull it all together in Seattle. It looks like he's finally getting there and this season will be a big benchmark for him as a coach.

And I have argued that the assistants can make a big difference. I think Cowher had some pretty bad Coordinators over the past few seasons, especially on the defensive side of the ball. I was never a big Tim Lewis fan although I wish him the best in New York.
