What do yall think about a ricky davis for wally swap

    I dont think ricky can be traded to the wolves until august

    There will be no swap....the contracts don't match..it isn't even close to matching salary cap wise

    and cavs have stated they will not be trading davis

    The Cavaliers have had discussions with the Minnesota Timberwolves about a trade involving Ricky Davis and Wally Szczerbiak, a source close to the situation said.

    Minnesota has been interested in Davis since last summer, when it signed him to a six-year, $34 million offer sheet that the Cavaliers later matched.

    Cavaliers General Manager Jim Paxson said recently he was not actively looking to trade Davis, partially based on the prior relationship Coach Paul Silas had with Davis when both were with the Hornets.

    But Davis did not make an extraordinary effort to connect with Silas after he got the job, not meeting with the new coach in the weeks after he was hired.

    ``We haven't been that active (with trade talks) because Paul wanted to get a look at our players,'' Paxson said. ``There have been a lot of phone calls with interest; we might be a little more aggressive coming out of summer league.''

    On the surface, the deal seems to satisfy both teams. Paxson wants a solid outside-shooting swingman, one of the reasons he drafted Jason Kapono in the second round. Szczerbiak, who averaged 17.6 points last year, is one of the league's best shooting swingmen and a former All-Star about to enter his prime.

    Davis is a cancer...oh i forgot..he is also a ballhog..also he try's to get triple doubles the wrong way...

    it would be a great deal for the twolves and a bad one for the cavs..they should just keep ricky unless they get a good offer

    a. this trade isnt going to happen, probably if for no other reason than i dont think it can be done cause of salaries.

    b. ricky davis is much better than wally; ricky can get 40pts and 10 assists at any time, wally is somewhat injury prone, and he can shoot - thats it. ricky can do it all and im sure he will mature this year under silas. also ricky davis is really exciting, and wally is not. this trade will never happen

    why does everyone continue to say this... he was injuried last season... thats it... now hes injury prone?

    wally is known to be a cancer himself. when he became a free agent he was actually quoted saying he's the best player on the team, that's why he deserves the max salary.

    with sam cassell the twolves don't need another slashing scorer. wally gives them the outside shooting to spread the court, but i still think the twolves better address their need for a big man and also try to sign a defensive stopper at the sg/sf spot. at this point ervin johnson or marc jackson will be their starting center. YUCK.

    when was he an Fa... Im sorry Marc Jackson isnt Shaq but the man is good energy and some solid boards... hell even some pretty good D... you did see him in the Lakers series did you not... Wally will do much better with a passing PG... like his all star season when TB was running the point...
