yeah a lack of responsiblity, parents are quick to blame everyone and everything else, instead of looking in the mirror. he is just copying kobe, it's that damn rap music, it's that damn violence on tv, it's that satanic marilyn manson. we've all heard the excuses, and that's exactly all they are, EXCUSES. a lot of parents these days just don't make the time to explain right and wrong. a lot of kids these days are parented by their video game system, "latch key" kids. it's fine for a kid to admire a sports figure, but they should be taught to recognize their sports hero is not above the law. and just because he did something wrong you should follow. i remember when len bias died of a cocaine overdose, some kid, who was a huge fan also od'd on coke. the parents said he was following len bias. i couldn't believe how naive they were. if your kid has access to cocaine then he obviously is hanging around the wrong people and it has nothing to do with being a fan of len bias.
bottom line is that all the kids who follow what their personal heroes or icons do are straightup idiots. That goes the same for whoever believes in what they see on tv or movies. I don't see how this is possible... I mean, how STUPID DO YOU HAVE TO BE?
