Phoenix Suns Protected Players -------- Stephon Marbury Amare Stoudemire Shawn Marion Joe Johnson Casey Jacobson Leandrinho Barbosa Zarko Cabarkapa Iakovos Tsakalidis Free Agents -------- Tom Gugliotta Scott Williams Unprotected -------- Penny Hardaway Bo Outlaw Jake Voskul Dan Langhi The Charlotte Bobcats would like land a marquee player by selecting Penny Hardaway, but his salary would account for 1/3 of their salary cap. Instead they select Bo Outlaw.
Hornets Protect Baron Davis Jamal Mashburn Jamaal Magloire P.J. Brown David Wesley David West Courtney Alexander James Lang Unprotected Darrell Armstrong Stacey Augmon Bryce Drew Kirk Haston George Lynch Robert Pack Sean Rooks Robert Traylor If i was the bobcats, i would take george lynch.
Raptors Protected players ---------------- Vince Carter Chris Bosh Alvin Williams Michael Bradley Lamond Murray Jerome Moiso Morris Peterson Antonio Davis Unproteched ------------- Bateer Brunson Curry Jeffries Johnson Palacio G.Williams I think The Raptors will Protech Antonio Davis to keep him happy unless he has a horrible season. I think they could take Chris Jeffries.
Alright! The Bobcats' GMs have chosen players from the following teams: Phoenix Toronto Chicago Memphis Dallas Cleveland Minnesota Orlando San Antonio Seattle Sacramento New Orleans Atlanta That leaves selections from: Boston Denver Detroit Golden State Houston Indiana LA Clippers LA Lakers Miami Milwaukee New Jersey New York Philadelphia Portland Utah Washington There is still time for the ?Cats to make a selection from the above teams. Tell your friends!
Ok I'll do one! DENVER! Protected list: Carmelo Anthony Andre Miller Nen? Nikoloz Tskitishvili Jon Barry Vincent Yarbrough Rodney White Junior Harrington I'd be interested in Camby if not for his frequent injuries and high salary so I'll take spring legged Jeff Trepagnier.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting How_High78:</div><div class="quote_post">Alright! Ok, the "real" Bobcats haven't picked anyone. This thread is a chance for members to act like the GM for their favourite teams and the Bobcats at the same time. First you choose a team and then select the 8 player you wish to have on your protected list then from the remaining players (now acting as the 'Cats' GM) you select the player of your choice. Members have selected from the teams listed above so far but there is still lots of time to play! It's a chance to see what the new franchise might look like as well as getting a good look at the depth of our favourite teams. So pick from a team not already used or contest the choices of your fellow JBB faithful. I hope that's clear! Enjoy!
The 'Cats might have a shot at a pricy, talented PG... Portland protects: Zach R. Wells D. Anderson Q. Woods Stepania (cheap) McInnis D Davis Patterson (3 yrs) FA: Rasheed, Tracy Murray, Boumtje Boumtje, M. Carrol Available: T. Oulaw (4 yrs) Damon S. (1 year left*) Stoudamire did his best work on the Raptor team when he had no one to pass to. He dribbled for 20 seconds and put up a shot. I don't know if Bernie would want to pay him $12M to do that. Ruben Patterson is not a candidate for Charlotte, since they are concerned about character issues. (Damon is just a whiny potsmoker.) Golden State protects: J-Rich Dunleavy Pietrus Murphy Cliff Robinson (2 years left) Dampier(2 expensive yrs left) Claxton (2 years left) Van Exel? (2 years, real expensive) FA: Foyle, Avery, Cheaney, Cardinal, Langhi, Parks, Lampley Available: Popeye Jones (2 years) Eschmeyer (3) I don't think the Warriors could handle losing Van Exel for nothing, even with the cap relief that would come with it. A lot depends on whether they think they could compete next year with the team they have. Claxton hasn't done much this year, but he could be someone the Bobcats are hoping to snag. Great thread, too bad I found it so late.
Celtics Here's the Celtics Protected Paul Pierce Vin Baker Raef LaFrentz Marcus Banks Tony Battie Jiri Welsch Kedrick Brown Kendrick Perkins Unprotected Mark Blount Brandon Hunter Walter McCarty Jumaine Jones Free Agents Mike James Chris Mills Eric Williams I think the Bobcats would like to take a big man but they would already have to many so the would go for Jumaine Jones.
Just letting all of you guys know, there is a new article on ESPN Insider which takes an in-depth look at the Bobcat's possible lineup. It's a great read. If you need a password and username, just PM me. I've got a few free ones.
Phoenix Suns Protected Players -------- Stephon Marbury Amare Stoudemire Shawn Marion Joe Johnson Leandrinho Barbosa Zarko Cabarkapa Penny Hardaway Jake Voshkul Unprotected -------- Tom Gugliotta Jahidi White Scott Williams Casey Jacobsen Dan Langhi If i were the bobcats i would definatley take jahidi white, but i dont know if the suns would protect voshkul over white for sure, whichever one of the two they chose to unprotect i would take.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting The Prophecy:</div><div class="quote_post">I would take Travis Outlaw. I got one of those feelings about him.</div> I agree with that about Travis Outlaw. This should be an interesting expansion draft.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting The Prophecy:</div><div class="quote_post">I would take Travis Outlaw. I got one of those feelings about him.</div> Yeah I would take any guy who came straight out of high school b/c if they are drafted straight out of HS, they obviously must have ALOT of potential

Rasual will get protected.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Sir Desmond:</div><div class="quote_post">I think Rasual Butler and Jerome Beasley get protected before Rafer Alston and Loren Woods. Hey this a REALLY great thread and i have been waiting on someone to start something like this! GREAT THREAD
